Chapter 130: Conspiracy
Hearing the man's shouts, Elias exchanged a glance with Olivia.
"Who's that guy?"
"I kind of recognize him..." Olivia pondered. "He's from a declining noble family, last name Taylor. Made a name for himself with a huge mining operation. Now he's a councilor in the Imperial Parliament."
As Elias and his party stepped out of the carriage, more royal guards converged at the entrance.
Nearby guests, also arriving for the event, were all buzzing with gossip, their eyes fixed on the scene.
Taylor, seeing the growing crowd, shouted even louder.
But it was to no avail. Eventually, the royal guards forcibly removed him, his wails and protests fading into the distance.
The ousted councilor and his rant about the law piqued both Elias and Olivia's curiosity.
Both quick thinkers, they sensed something unusual afoot.
"What's this 'Magic Crystal Act' about?" Elias asked, looking at her.
