Max's eyes widened and his jaw dropped open slightly. He stared back at me incredulously after realizing that I'd spoken out loud without intending to. For several moments, he looked almost stunned; it appeared that this entire situation had caught him off guard completely. Then he recovered enough to narrow his eyes menacingly. "This is ridiculous. What are you even talking about?! This has absolutely nothing to do with your business or the way that you choose to live your life! None of this is your fault!"
