A shadow glided through the royal halls invisibly, dodging the guards while remaining unseen. The corridor was spooky and silent after the previous unrest, and he proceeded with purpose and accuracy since he was so familiar with the palace's architecture.
The shadow knew exactly who his target was and where to locate them.
Meanwhile, Shayah sensed someone standing right behind her. She was taken aback when she looked up and saw the individual dressed entirely in black. While she stood frozen, unable to utter a word, he covered her nose and mouth with a cloth drenched in sedatives.
The drug took effect almost quickly, but she awoke briefly with wide, uncertain eyes. Her body became limp, and she lost consciousness in a couple of seconds.
Unaware of the treachery within their walls or their queen being dragged away, the palace guards continued their patrols. No one saw how the shadow took Shayah.
