Barbie Coles, orphaned by tragedy, faces betrayal and hardship. Desperate to care for her little brother, she takes a difficult job. Mark Jordan, a wealthy and indifferent man, enters her life. Their worlds collide, and secrets come to light, threatening Barbie's fragile stability. Will Mark's discovery of her job ruin their connection? Can Barbie find acceptance in Mark's family, and will the truth about her parents' death destroy her world?
Mark's frustration erupted into a fierce outburst. "What the fuck!" he yelled at his parents, unable to contain his anger any longer.
His mother snapped back at him. "Don't yell, Mark," she scolded, her tone laced with irritation.
Turning to his father, Mark continued harshly, "Dad, are you seeing what's going on? She wants me to get engaged to her," he said, his voice filled with disdain, referring to Rose. His father lowered his head, a sign of resignation.
"I don't know what the problem is, Mark. Rose is a good girl, and she comes from a wealthy family," his mother boasted proudly, trying to persuade him.
"I don't give a fuck about her or her family. I'm out of here," Mark blurted out, his frustration driving him to the brink of leaving.
His mother, however, was not ready to let him go without a fight. She followed him from behind, her voice echoing through the house. "Where do you think you're going?" she yelled after him.
