Barbie shivered under Mark's intense gaze and instinctively stood up, causing James to frown at the sudden tension in the air.
"Mark... I... What are you doing here?" Barbie nervously questioned, her voice wavering.
"What, am I disturbing your little date with your boyfriend?" Mark stared at James with fury, the atmosphere growing more charged.
"He is not my boyfriend," Barbie chirped out, James' face briefly showing hurt but quickly masking it.
"Why didn't you pick up my calls?" Mark sternly questioned, his frustration evident.
"Well... I was..." Barbie attempted to explain, but Mark cut her off sharply.
"You were what?" Mark yelled, causing Barbie to flinch at the intensity of his voice.
"Who is he, Barbie?" James, standing behind her, finally spoke. Mark's glare shifted to James.
"That nitwit asked you something, who am I?" Mark redirected his gaze to Barbie, who was visibly shaken.
