When they arrived back at the penthouse, Chase had apologized half a dozen times. Helina had accepted all of those apologies. She’d overreacted and she knew why. She was falling for Chase. That couldn’t happen.
“I’m a little tired and strung out,” she said pausing by her apartment door.
Harlan was already inside, having gone up ahead of them. He’d been a buffer between them on the return trip to the penthouse.
“Will you think about pressing charges?” Chase asked.
“I will.”
Pressing charged against Kurt was useless. He wasn’t subject to human laws. Her only option would be the Wolf Council, and it would be her word against his. Harlan couldn’t be a useful witness because he’d challenged Kurt. His word would be seen as sour grapes because he lost the challenge to Kurt.
