The Billionaire's Sick Wife

A poor girl born with congenital heart disease has not had much hope for the future, but her life takes a sharp turn when a wealthy, handsome man proposes marriage to her following her heart transplant. It was the most surprising thing to happen to her in her 22 years of life. Abigail had never thought that Christopher Sherman, a young, multibillionaire businessman, would approach her and express his desire to marry her. She was ecstatic and accepted his proposal. But little did she know that the 32-year-old handsome guy had a secret reason for wanting to marry her. Abigail stepped into his world with a lot of hope in her heart. But marrying him was not the happy ending. It was just the beginning. Will she be able to keep her heart from breaking? What will happen if she discovers his true motive? ============= "Life was easy before I married you," said Abigail with pain in her eyes. “I was dying, but I was happy.” “What do you mean?” Christopher clasped her arm. “Stop talking nonsense and eat the medicine,” he hissed, placing a tablet in her palm. Under his fiery gaze, Abigail cowered. "Do you find it difficult to meet my demand for a baby? It has been two years, Christopher." He didn’t answer her question. All he did was stare at her, acting mute. “Why do I feel like you don’t care about my feelings?” Abigail asked. “Don’t you love me?” His silence was the clear answer. ============= A special thanks to Aurora, my editor, for her helpful suggestions on how to improve the synopsis. Chaos outside the office.

Abigail's mind was still foggy from sleep as she heard Christopher's urgent voice, cutting through her drowsiness. She blinked a few times, gradually becoming aware of the situation. Her hand moved to rub her eyes as she tried to focus on him, her heart skipping a beat as she saw him fully dressed in his formal attire, ready to leave.

Abigail couldn't help but feel a mixture of surprise and curiosity. She shifted on the bed, sitting up slowly, the cotton sheets pooling around her waist. The lingering effects of her discomfort from the previous night made her wince as she gripped her head, her fingers stroking her temples.

Christopher walked out of the closet but paused as he gazed at her. He felt sorry for disturbing her sleep. "I'll be there in a while."

He hung up the phone and tucked it inside his coat pocket. He approached her with that familiar smile on his lips.
