Is this the end for us?

After what he said, Ethan then started to walk away from them, but no one even stopped him. I looked at Noah, but he was still wearing his cold and poker face as he always had.

I feel bad for Ethan. Why do they have to be like that to him?

When we arrived home, Noah was so silent while walking inside. My eyes were still on him as he continued to walk towards our room. There was silence between us as I went inside our room. I looked around, and saw him on the bed, sitting down while sighing. I guess he and Ethan didn't get along, huh?

When we were in bed, I never talked to him. I don't want him to get mad at me again. I want to understand what he has been feeling right now. I was about to close my eyes when suddenly he spoke, "So? Aren't you going to ask me?" I turned my back on him, and found out that he was already facing me.

"What? What do you mean?" I asked.

"Aren't you going to ask about Ethan?" he said to me.

"No. I know you didn't want to talk about him, so, why would I ask you?" I uttered, and he nodded with a sigh.

"You're right, but... I guess I wanted to tell this to you."

I looked at him, and he then started telling me about what it was all about.

"Ethan was the first son of dad from another woman," he started the conversation. I was just looking at him, listening to him without judgement. "He and my siblings didn't really get along as we are so mad at him," he uttered. "Why?" I asked him, curiously.

"We were mad at him for being an illegitimate son of my dad. He... ruined our family name because of that conference he had three years ago," he continued, and I nodded my head. He sighed, "I was so mad at him until now. But, I also feel pity for him as he had no one with him," he said.

"Why? Where is his mom?" I asked.

"His mom died in a car crash," he replied, and my eyes widened when I heard that. I remember my parents too. They also died in a car crash, and everytime I remember it, it traumatized me. I shook my head as I heard my every cry as I watched my bloody parents on the road. The car we were riding in was already on fire so I couldn't see them completely and I lost consciousness. The last thing I remember is pure blood and every cry I made.

"Abi? Are you okay?" he asked me, but suddenly my vision went blurry and I was dizzy. I lost consciousness and the last thing I remember was... being carried by Noah towards the bed while calling out my name.

When I opened my eyes, I saw Noah was beside me while holding my hands, "Are you feeling alright?" he asked me, and I nodded my head while getting up from the bed, slowly. I looked at him and plastered a smile, "I'm fine. Don't worry," I uttered to him.

"But, why? Why did you collapse?" he asked.

"I don't know either," I lied to him. Noah didn't know about my parent's accident. I never told him about that. I kept that to myself, as he was always not listening to what I was saying before. That's why I never had the opportunity to tell him about that. I smiled while looking at him, "Don't worry about me. I am fine now."

After that, we started to close our eyes, and fell asleep. I was closing my eyes when suddenly Noah's arms wrapped around my body, causing my eyes to open and I felt the chills when I felt the warm breath that was coming from his mouth under my neck, "I want to sleep in this position, can I?" he asked me, and I nodded my head.

I woke up because of the sunlight hitting my face. I got out of bed but I never saw Noah again. I was about to step out of the room when I saw a note taped to the door.

"Just rest for today. I'm not going to work today. I'll be meeting with a client. Good morning, rest well," I read the letter on the note.

I immediately picked it up and immediately placed it on the table before I even left the room. I was in the kitchen, making my breakfast when suddenly I heard a door bell outside. I stopped what I was doing, and went to the gate to find out who it was. As I was walking towards the gate, I saw Charlotte and Noah's mother.

I was immediately engulfed in nervousness as I stepped closer to the two of them. Slowly, the corner of my lips slid upwards while looking at them.

"Charlotte, Mom," I uttered as I opened the gate.

They just quietly entered the house while I was still smiling at them. We were walking, but they immediately stopped, causing me to stop too. They turned their heads on me, and I smiled when I saw them.

Charlotte rolled her eyes at me, "Hey! Can you stop doing that?" she asked me.

"What? What do you mean?"

"Smiling. Stop it, it doesn't even suit you," she uttered while rolling her eyes at me. I nodded my head and stopped smiling as she told me to do so.

"Abigail, right?" I immediately nodded when Noah's mom mentioned that.

"You ..." she started to walk closer to me. I plastered on a smile while looking at her, "Yes?"

"Stay away from my son," he said in a whispered manner that made my eyes widen.

"What? What do you mean, mom?"

"Mom?"

She scoffed, "Don't even dare to call me that. Because you ... don't have the right to call me like that. Understand?" I was stiffened on where I was standing while looking at her. The speed of my chest beating was so fast as I faced her. I could sense that Charlotte was laughing at me right now.

"Abigail?" she uttered, and I raised my head again to look at her.

"Yes, Ma'am?"

"Break up with my son," she said, and that caused my eyes to widen even more. I didn't know what I was feeling right now, staring and standing in front of her. I wanted to speak, but I couldn't. I wanted to fight, but I couldn't. There's something that is stopping me from doing all those things to her, and I don't know how I can fight back.

"Do you understand?" she asked me, but I remained silent. I was silent while staring at the floor when she chuckled, "Ah, I get it."

"What do you want? No, I mean... How much do you want?" she asked, and that broke my heart. Did they ever think that I'm only into Noah because of his money? No, I am not. I love him. I love him regardless if he had money or not.

My chin trembled, and my eyes were wet with tears. "Ma'am..."

"What? Did you calculate how much you need?" she asked, and I could see Charlotte was smirking while looking at me.

"Tell her," Charlotte said to me.

"I don't need your money. I don't need anything," I said to them, and it looked like they were surprised at what I said.

"What? Are you crazy?"

"No, I'm not. But, I really love Noah. I can't just break up with him because of money. I... don't want to break up with him, unless he tells me so," I uttered.

"How dare you!" she raged and slapped me. My eyes widened as she did that. I was stiffened and I couldn't move my body because of the shock and nervousness I was feeling right now.

"You... I will ruin you, no matter what it takes, Abi. You have to break up with him," she said to me. "Noah will be marrying a woman from a wealthy family, so? You have to let him go," she added, but I couldn't do that. I couldn't let go of NOah, and let another woman have him. I may sound selfish, but that's what I'm feeling. I want him.

"If killing you is the solution, I... will do that," she whispered at me. I was silent all along. "Let's go," she said, and both of them went out of the house. A deep sigh came out of my mouth as I slowly weakened and sat down on the floor.

My eyes were filled to the brim with tears. I felt cold tears start to stream down my face. A great sob escaped me, and I covered my face with shaking hands. I was weak, I didn't want to let go and give Noah to someone else. I want him. I just want him for me, but ... I am risking my life for him. Is it worth it? Will it be worth it for me to risk my life for him? What if he doesn't like me anymore? What if ... my words are cut short because of the tears seeping from my eyes?

Is this the end for us?
