Patrick led Raya to a five-star hotel to which he typically takes his wealthy clients. It was also the priciest and the one nearest to his office.
That was why he'd taken her there: to introduce himself to her.
They placed some meal and drink orders. Patrick silently observed her eating. She had changed, and he could see it. Now, she was older, plumper, and more mature. She was not the same woman he knew. Her eyes remained small and with the glimmer of something he never knew, but otherwise, they stayed the same.
When she finished her meal, he asked, "When do you return?" He took hardly a nibble out of the fried rice.
"A month ago. I lounge with my mom and elder sister at Kendall. My mom stayed with my sister now that my dad had died. They couldn't let her stay alone." She responded.
