Chapter 4

" In the sickbay. Guess what is now... "

" Who saw them? "

" Taiwo. "

" That snitch. " Kiishi hissed.

" I still cannot believe it. " Bisola said shaking her head.

" I can. Shebi I told you I saw a used condom there the other day. " Kiishi said smiling at her own prediction.

" Kiishi that is not the bone of contention. It is Mrs Danjuma, the CRS teacher, she is a married woman. " Bisola said passionately.

" So? "

" So? Kiishi it seems like you do not understand. Mrs Danjuma is married and... "

" What of Mr. Sam? " Kiishi retorted.

" Well you know it is different now. He is a man but Mrs Danjuma... "

" Enough with Mrs. Danjuma. Mr Sam is at fault too, yet you keep going on about Mrs Danjuma. Mr Sam has a wife at home so he has no business having sex with another woman. " Kiishi fired back.

" Okay, okay. They sha caught them, I wonder if there will be assembly today. " Bisola said as they walk into their classroom.

" You think assembly won't hold because of what happened? " Kiishi asked her friend as she dropped her bag in her locker.

" Yes, the teachers and the principal have been talking since morning. "

" They talk every morning. "

" But it's different today. Today they... " Before Bisola can finish her sentence the bell indicating assembly rings.

" There you go, we shall have assembly today. " Kiishi told her friend who looked offended by the sound of the bell.

Kiishi walked out of the class hand in hand with her friend Bisola to the school hall for assembly. Most days Kiishi alongside Bisola and her boyfriend, Kayode ( Bisola's ) they will stab assembly and instead hide in the labs listening to music or watching movies and when Joshua decided to join them they will split themselves and make out instead in toilet stalls but today Kiishi will not miss assembly because she was going to be busy listening to Mrs Ariyo, her school principal trying to interpret whatever it is she will say.

The assembly started with the usual praise and worship that Kiishi thought had to be the most boring session ever existed, she knew that if she were God and she had to live on the praises of her school's assembly she will rather stay hungry. It was one of the reasons she chose to stab assembly most days. Once, when she had been caught roaming the school instead of attending assembly her father had scolded her and she had told him:

" But it's not my fault assembly is so boring. They sing the same songs every... "

" Then lead assembly and stop complaining. " Her father had retorted and that had shut her up because there was no way she was going to stand in front of the whole school and kill their eardrums with her horrible voice. She knew her voice was one of her less attractive qualities.

After the praise and worship and prayers came the national anthem and school anthem which for the life of her had almost no idea what was being chanted after ' arise o compatriots ' and she wasn't even quite sure if it were ' compatriots ' or ' companion ' that was being chanted.
