The Family Hangout

It was a bright and oddly sunny morning on the Lagos island. The sun was already high at around 9am and everything around seems to be really fine as although the sun was high up, it was still a bit windy.

Pack up the food in the coolers and put them in the teunk said, Mrs. Bada to Kolade. It was their annual family hangout, which is the only time their family spends together, and so far things have been going smooth until , Kolade spotted 3 packs of Lawsons whiskey on one side of the car trunk and shouted out to his mom about it asking why it was there.

The car was his dad's and it's a white Toyota sienna with a Learner sign at the back that has been hanging there over a year as Mr Bada kept it on the car since he couldn't remove the sign from the car as it was too tight to pull out.

Dele! What the hell is that much alcohol doing in the trunk of the car ? Asked Mrs Tayo Bada.

Ohhh.... I totally forgot to tell you about the facr that I invited my workmate and family over to the family hangout.

And when was that , and you couldn't let me know since i not really an important part of the family right, Or is tgis just one of your ever annoying suprises? Asked Mrs. Bada

Well i thought i told you yesterday, said Mr Bada

Yeah , you did tell me how irresponsible of an husband you Are again yesterday as you came home drunk again, and thank God this time you still had some money left in your pockets.

I heard the Bamike family are joining us in this Family hangout today , Kolade told Fisayo.

Well I'm not bothered it means less boredom as i get to talk with my friend racheal and hear less of mom and dad brawling in the car.

Well I'm still left on my own , i couldn't invite a friend over , guess I'm the only one left out in this whole family hangout , said kolade.

I think you have this crush on Rachael said , fisayo , this is your chance to finally shoot your shot. We're going to the beach and its a perfect place for you to express your feelings to Racheal and tell her how you think about her when you having your happy time , Rachael said meniacly and she laughed and left only Kolade in the living room to go drop the rest of the food in the car.

Well i like Rachael, this is my chance, but I'm still really scared , what if she doesn't accept me, I'll be very sad. It's better i don't. I'll find a better opportunity. Kolade said to himself.

Imma just get some of my comic and read them on my way to the beach so i never get to experience my parent arguing or asking me some boring questions or acting weird like their real parents just because the Bamike family are present.

The Atican beach is about an hour drive away from the Bada's home due to the traffic.

Kolade stuck to reading his comic as Fisayo and Racheal gisted about boys and both parents talked about the poor situations of things in the country.

I don't think he's handsome, he just thinks because his parents are rich he can get every girl he wants , he's just a cocky fool i think. Well i believe some other dumb girl would think he's handsome. Said Rachael.

Ouch! said Fisayo , you think I'm dumb ? Well it doesn't matter. Have you seen james when he's doing sport ? He's so muscular and handsome. He had this very cute smile too with dimples. What more could a girl ask for? And he is organizing a party next weekend at his place im surely going.

Well the party , i heard about that but I'm not sure , it depends , if I'm free I could be there, if my parents also let me. Said Rachael

Well i just have to tell my mom I'm going to see a friend and she'll let me, said Fisayo.

Get your butts out of the car and pack all that needsa to be packed shouted Mrs. Bada , The children did so as both Mr Bada and Mr Bamike took the Drinks with them while the go over to rent out a spot where their family could sit and pay the entrance fee for the beach.

..................................................

At the beach

Mr Bada and Mr bamike sat with Alcoholic drinks and stewed meat amidst them , while chatting about things in their office.

Have you ever wondered how Ijeoma survives with that big breasts of hers? Said Mr Bada

Well i thought it was just me that thinks about it , said Mr Bamike , sometimes I wondered what i was thinking of when I married Toyosi, she's just a flat piece of wood, my wife. Well there are benefits though , as no man seems to stare at her anytime im without her , so no man is probably interested in her.

That reminds me I heard the boss is going out with Ijeoma, said Mr. Bamike , you are closer to the boss so you should be able to see all that has been happening.

Well that Ijeoma and or Boss' saga is not very interesting because i also want to have a slice of the cake too. But, it's the boss, I don't have another job , all i have to do is hope for luck to come my way. Whereas my wife is already too old and it's always a war trying to convince her to have sex. Said Mr. Bada

At the water front was the mothers and their kids splashing water all around as Kolade just sat on the beach with his comic book in his hands reading.

He isn't scared of water but he's afraid of messing up around Rachael as he isn't anywhere near masculine.

I'm just Nineteen so I'm still growing , so very soon the abs and the beards would start popping out, he said to himself.

Then, i would be able to Approach Racheal as that is always what girls like.

Although Rachael is 17 and so is Fisayo, they are both matured already look like young girls that are ripe for marriage, why should i be the one that is still growing, said Kolade.

Fisayo, stay at the shallow part , shouted Mrs. Bada. And you too Racheal.

This children are always a tough nut to crack eh, said Mrs. Bamike.

Yes oh , Mrs. Bada replied, even their Father too ,

Mrs. Bamike laughed, I thought i was the only one who thinks that way, Sometimes, you start thinking your husband too are part of your children.

What do you think ,Don't they also want to suck your breasts? Said Mrs. Bada ,

I just pray they don't get too drunk too drive us home , Dele still had too much to drink just yesterday night , said Mrs Bada

I'll start thinking we sue the company that produces Alcohol. Said Mrs. Bamike

Don't you think it's better that your husband is an alcoholic, would you rather get an husband that sleeps around with every girl on the street ? Said Mrs. Bada

Well , i trust my Kunle , he thinks I'm just the perfect thang for him, as he keeps saying it . Said Mrs Bamike

..................................................

Back in the car babies! Shouted Mr. Bada , Be specific Dele , said Mr Bamike, not all are your babies. Let's be guided here.

Well well, here we go again two drunk fathers once again , Kolade thought. That God I'm with my Airpods hun.

Make sure you take all our stuffs in the car , I don't want anything left behind, and this time please check that your daddy took his wallet. said Mrs Bada

Yes ma, kolade replied

While kolade was making sure everything was in the car he saw, Racheal staring at the waves slapping the sand and slowly dragging back again.

Nice view eh! Said Kolade

Yes it is said Rachael, and why did you not even go close to the waves, are you  scared?

Well no, kolade said , i just wasn't in the mood . I'm writing high school final exams so im not really ready to play.

Oh , i get , that cool though to see you take school serious, you and your sister and actually different set of people, said Racheal.

Yeah , she one annoying human being , said Kolade

They both laughed....

You are so funny eh , said Rachael.

Uhm uhm .... sorry to interrupt you, but we want to start leaving.

Ohh, alright I still need to change my trunks , let me hurry , said Rachael.

I saw you , said Fisayo, you pervert . You couldn't stop staring at Racheal's hot bot while we were at the water side. I'm sure you were too hard to come and join us , Fisayo said as she laughed and left to the car.

Well i think it's nice, i was able to at least start a conversation, hmm . I think i tried . Let me hurry and get in the car before I'll be the thing that's left behind by dad on this year's family hangout. said  Kolade , as he smiled and made his way to the car.
