Valerie sat in the garden, her mind reeling with where Alex would have brought Sophia from. Suddenly, Joseph walked up to her and sat down beside her.
"Hey... Why are you all by yourself?" Joseph asked. But Valerie didn't respond. She was still angry with him for taking sides with Sophia during the dinner.

"Both of us would have gotten ridiculed. I mean if I had supported you, then both of us would have looked like a fool.
