Trouble

When the Barrier got activated, a couple of guys came to take a look at what was happening.

They noticed Halsten's agitation, but no one understood the reason behind it.

Almost all the people present couldn't see Leus' aura, some Mages didn't even bother to activate their spell to try.

The Elites who were able to see the aura of Leus' opponent were intrigued

'This guy was a Mage just around a month ago, he has already evolved?'

'But how come we never heard of it?'

'Interesting'

No one even considered the possibility of a mistake, let alone anything worse.

Leus turned around and wondered

'What's wrong with these people?'

He activated Advanced Mana Vision to evaluate his opponent

The white-haired man was just a Light Mage, but the red-haired was a C-Tier Elite Fire Knight.

' ... I don't think I can win this'

'Damn I don't want to lose my points'

As soon as Leus and the man locked eyes, the barrier was filled with Killing Intent

Leus narrowed his eyes

Leus could see the white-haired man say something to the Knight and then walk away to the end of the Barrier.

The Barrier was dome-shaped and its radius was 50 meters, Leus was standing on one end of it.

Behind him were Halsten and Kasimir standing outside the Barrier still confused about the whole situation, and beside them were the rest of the group.

About 7-9 other people were standing around the Barrier in different spots awaiting the other supervisors to come and begin the duel.

Normally, there would be at least thrice that number watching any duel, but no one had an idea that a duel was about to take place at this time.

About 25 Meters away from Leus, right in the middle of the Barrier, stood the red-haired man with his flaming sword in his hand, and on the other end, about 50 Meters away, stood the white-haired man.

The red-haired man was continuously directing Killing Intent at Leus.

As Kasimir said, Leus unsheathed his sword and was just waiting, contemplating what he should do in this situation.

All of a sudden the white-haired man raised his hand and the time began to count down.

'Oh that's bad'

The red-haired man dashed toward Leus, Crossing 15 meters in a second.

Leus stopped hesitating and used Shield, building a thick wall of rocks between him and his opponent

'I need to figure out something ... my attacks should injure him, right?'

As a start, Leus activated the Abstract of Hardening, covering his body with a layer of Earth Mana to increase his defense.

BOOM

Leus heard a small explosion coming from the other side of the wall

'Is he going to break it?'

But within a second, Leus saw the knight jumping over the wall

Time seemed to freeze

'How ... did he do that?'

'The wall is at least 7 meters high, humping over it should've been impossible'

The knight locked eyes with Leus in the middle of the air.

Instantly, Leus' instincts screamed at him to move out of the way.

"FIRE SLASH" The knight shouted

He swung his burning sword all the way from right to left, cutting through the air itself and releasing a concentrated slash of Fire at Leus.

The slash was basically a thin 1.5-meter horizontal line of scorching flames that the knight projected out of his sword.

Leus quickly pointed the palm of his hand to the side, activating the Abstract of Ignition and flinging himself out of the way.

Tshhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The slash hit the floor where Leus was standing, its fire was so hot that it burned the ground itself and left a black mark on it.

Leus looked at where he was standing with terror

'That ... THAT'S TOO POWERFUL!'

When Leus first saw the slash, he felt that if it hit him he'd die

'It'd bisect me'

Before Leus could catch his breath, the knight landed on the ground and locked eyes with Leus, then he quickly swung his sword again, releasing another slash at him.

'Oh my god'

Leus quickly flung himself away again, avoiding another deadly slash.

'This can't go on like this, I have to attack'

Before the knight could attack him again, Leus decided to attack

'My fastest spells are Hydraulic and Laser'

Leus silently cast 5 Lasers and 5 Hydraulics and directly unleashed them at his opponent.

Effortlessly, the knight blocked 9 out of the 10 attacks, 1 Laser hit him but its damage wasn't severe.

It burned through his armor and injured him, but it barely made any difference.

However, the spells served their purpose.

Leus needed a couple of moments to cast Lightweight and Light-Shield on himself

'So I can be faster and not die from a single hit'

He covered his body with as much Light Mana as he could, boosting his speed, reducint his body weight, and providing him with instant heals if necessary.

Now that by using the Abstract of Ignition once Leus was getting flung so far away, the knight changed his strategy

The knight noticed Leus' increased speed, after projecting two more Slashes at him, He realized that it was basically impossible to hit Leus from range.

'He basically flies 30 meters away every time he does that'

So he went back to his original plan

Boom

Sparks of fire appeared below the knight's legs, and he dashed in Leus' direction.

At that moment, Leus knew what the sound he heard earlier was

'He's using a variant of the Abstract of Ignition ...

Instead of using it with his hands, he's using it with his legs'

Leus realized that this was a more efficient way to use the Abstract

'Instead of pointing his hand, he only has to look in that direction and use the Abstract'

Sure, the difference was a second or so, but right now, even a second was a lot of time.
