Leus' mind became blank from the shock.
Then it quickly began racing to find an answer
'What ... how does he know? More importantly, what should I say to him?'
He remembered that Arno once told him that Ignatius could tell lies from the truth.
'Lying isn't an option, and even if I lie, how can I come up with a reasonable lie?'
While Leus' mind was desperately trying to find an answer, he realized that the room had become very silent
'Too silent, where is Fia?'
He looked behind him and didn't see anyone else
'Oh ... I'm alone'
Ignatius said
"Take a seat, it's only you and me now. No need to talk to you with Telepathy anymore."
Leus absentmindedly sat.
For the first time in a long while, he was feeling genuine fear
'What should I do? Will it be okay to tell him about Sal? I'm not sure how will the outcome be ... '
He didn't feel like that since Blaze first directed his killing attempt toward him. Cold chills were running down his spine.
He looked at Ignatius' aura and felt even more afraid
'I stand no chance against him ...'
Ignatius' aura felt contradictory, it was so bright and so intense, yet it was very calm.
It was like a hot burning fire, yet the fire was not going anywhere, only staying in its place.
'I don't think even Arno can win against him'
To Leus, Ignatius' aura felt unparalleled, supreme, he felt as if he could crush him in a single second if he so desired, the thought made him unconsciously gulp.
Ignatius spoke in a neutral tone
"There's no need to be afraid, if I wanted to kill you, I'd have already done so.
I can feel that you're genuinely afraid for your life right now, you shouldn't be.
Perhaps if you were a Demon as I first suspected then I'd have killed you, but since you are a human, I won't, for now at least."
Leus didn't reply and Ignatius continued
"Don't think about lying. As long as we can come to an agreement, you've nothing to fear, is that clear?"
It took a couple of seconds for Leus to calm down and reply properly
"I - I understand"
His heart was racing and his forehead was sweating, yet, he tried to act as composed as possible
'Things will probably go fine, there's no reason for him to kill me'
He calmed himself down, then Ignatius asked
"Well now, who are you?"
"Leus Inferno"
Ignatius tilted his head
"You actually believe that? Interesting"
Ignatius couldn't know the real truth of the world, that was something above his realm. He could only know if weaker beings were lying or telling the truth.
Because of that, if the weaker being believed something to be true, then Ignatius would feel that it was true, even if it wasn't the actual truth, like right now.
"What happened to the real Leus Inferno? Did you kill him and take his body?"
Leus furrowed his brows
"No? What are you talking about? I've been in this body since the day I was born"
Ignatius narrowed his eyes
'If I didn't know better, I would've said that he knows how to lie to me'
Luckily, Ignatius was confident that it was impossible, regardless of who that person was, he was still only in the Third Realm.
'There's no way for a being in the Third Realm to lie to a being of the Fifth'
'Absolutely impossible.'
Ignatius came closer to Leus and asked
"Let's take a different approach.
You've been Leus Inferno since the day you were born, correct?"
"Yes"
"And when was that?"
"Six years and a couple of months ago, I don't know the exact day."
"What about before that? Before Six years? Seven years ago, who were you?"
Leus paused and became more nervous, Ignatius just waited for the answer.
After a couple of seconds passed in silence, Ignatius spoke in an annoyed tone
"Answer, we don't have the entire day"
"I was Alex, I came from a different world"
Hearing that was shocking
'I already knew that he was someone else ... but a different world? How come'
"What brought you here?"
Leus came to a realization
'There's no point in lying, I'll just say everything ... if things go bad I'll say that Arno knows everything to win time, and when Arno comes, I'll ask him to spare me or something.'
Yet, Leus decided to not say the whole truth
'If I can just cover some parts, that should be enough'
"The Summoning Lord brought me here.
He was looking for someone, and when he found that I was not the one he was looking for, he killed me, and then I awakened as Leus Inferno."
When Ignatius heard that, he became very interested in Leus' story
"So you died two times and then became Leus?"
"Yes"
It made sense but didn't make sense
Nothing was surprising about being summoned and then killed, everyone educated enough knew about the Lords and their strange acts, especially the bizarre summoning Lord.
But what Leus said, despite being the truth, didn't make sense.
'That's natural, but not natural at the same time.
How come he was re-born here yet he still remembers what happened before he was born? His soul should've been reset.'
"Why do you still remember what happened before you died?"
Leus said the truth
"I'm not sure, but I know that the Summoning Lord did something to me.
First, he taught me the world's language, then, he did something to my soul that made it stronger and made me keep my memories, at least that's what he said."
When Leus said that, all the pieces in Ignatius' mind fell into place
"So your soul is altered by a Lord ...
That's why I can't see anything different in it. Certainly a Lord's magic is too advanced for me to detect.
And you don't actually belong here, that's why your soul and body aren't syncing."
Ignatius had a general idea about the matter now, but he was still curious about many other things
