The Archivist's Ploy: A Tale of One Against The World

Far above the horizon, beyond the clouds and the apocalyptic storms under it, hovered a yellow-haired old-looking man. His yellow eyes gave off a bright radiance, and countless books floated around him. Throughout history, the man was known by many names, (The Watcher - The Chronicler - The Historian - The Custodian - The Recordkeeper) But during this Era, he was known as The Archivist. The Archivist's perception inspected thousands of kilometers far and wide, Yet 'Nothing interesting is happening' His frustration grew 'What's the point of a worldwide perception if there's no apposite change to perceive?' 'The world has become mundane' 'And no one is doing anything about it' Ergo, The Archivist will take matters into his own hands 'I'll orchestrate a worldwide, All-embracing scheme against an oblivious individual' With a sinister smile on his face, he devised his plan 'Turn the entire world into a person's antagonist, Then enjoy the show' And he had the perfect plot for it 'First, Utter Despair that would cause immense Pain' 'Then, More Despair that would turn the Pain to Loathe' 'Then, As the Loathe grows, The Despair will transform into Rage' 'The Rage will make the Being Crave Revenge, and the intense Crave will result in Devotion to his goal' 'Finally, The Despair, Pain, Loathe, Crave, and Devotion will all be used as fuel for the Rage, Transforming it into an even extremer emotion' "WRATH" How would a single person unleash his Wrath against the entire world? 'That's what I'm going to find out' "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA" The Archivist's maniacal laughter echoed loudly 'The world is about to be entertaining' He looked up and asked with a reverberating, Bleak voice "Who will be the unlucky one?"

Headlines 2, Reactions

The next day:

(The mysterious Purple Star, from the Library's Young Master to The Mansion's Young Lord. Will a new Elite Mage soon emerge?)

The news circulated throughout the city incredibly fast!

The fact that the Mysterious Teen wasn't Noble by birth made the people ecstatic. Someone they never heard about before rose to power!

He was indeed of noble origins, but he was the son of a middle-class family!

It was something refreshing, much better than hearing the repetitive stories about a certain someone's son continuing the glorious bla bla of his father or inheriting the amazing wealth of his parents and then claiming that hard work is the key to success.

In the middle of the city, a stall owner was shouting to attract buyers

"Come check come check! From no one to a Young Lord!

Read about Leus Inferno and his journey from the middle class to the Red Mansion!"

A red-haired lady became interested and picked up the newspaper from the stall while saying

"Someone actually rose to power on his own! How inspiring"

A man walking by overheard her and picked up another newspaper as well

"Really? Let me check"

The crowd gripped other people's attention

"What's all the fuss about?"

"Eh? Do you guys actually believe that? He's probably the Duke's illegitimate son!"

"Look at this purple hair! My grandmother told me that this is a demonic trait!"

"But your grandmother died before you were born?"

"Don't overthink about the details! Focus on the essence!"

" ... Right"

That's how it started, and by the evening, the entire city heard of the name Leus Inferno, and those who knew of him weren't an exception.

Inside Leus' home:

Blaze came back with an excited look on his face.

"Viorica, Look at this"

He handed Viorica a newspaper.

She looked at the first page and her eyes opened wide

"Oh my god! It's Leus!"

Blaze nodded

"Everyone is talking about him"

Viorica's eyes gleamed

"Buy us 10! No buy 100!"

"Pff? 100? We don't even know a 100 person"

She pushed him back out of the house

"Buy all that you find!"

Then she ran back inside

"Amethyst, Merlin, come and see! Leus is in the newspaper."

Inside Felix's home:

As soon as Felix opened the door, Arleen jumped on him waving the newspaper in front of his face, making him flinch.

"Woah, take it easy, you're pregnant... you freaked me out, what is it?"

"Didn't you see the news?"

"What news? I'm not interested.

I bought some delicious Smoked Fish and want to eat it with you"

A scary expression suddenly appeared on Arleen's face

"Eh... What's wrong? Did someone die or something?"

She handed Felix the newspaper and he began reading, then a bright smile appeared on his face

"Oh wow ... Leus made it!"

"You didn't tell me he would be a Young Lord!"

Felix shrugged

"How would I know? No one told me either"

Arleen spoke in a very serious tone

"We have to visit and congratulate them, I want to meet Leus again"

"Hmm ... I'm not sure, they're probably busy with all the new changes. Who knows when will Leus be free"

"No no, it's very important"

She put both her arms on Felix's shoulders and continued

"Very very important! We have to congratulate them, otherwise what type of friends would we be? This is an amazing once-in-a-lifetime achievement!

You have to directly meet Leus and congratulate him."

Felix furrowed his brows

"I didn't know they were that dear to you. Well, fine, I'll talk to Blaze and try to find a time when Leus is free soon, I have no idea when though."

After that, Felix put the newspaper aside

"Now let me go and prepare the Smoked Fish, newspapers aren't edible"

He walked to the kitchen, and Alreen chuckled and followed him inside.

Inside the Guild:

Lisa was holding the newspaper and had a worried expression on her face

'If I go and show him, he'll keep bothering me, if I don't, then he'll bother me more for not telling him about it ... '

She sighed and resigned to her fate, then knocked on Ishaan's door and entered

"Sir, did you read the news?"

Ishaan replied in a bored tone

"No, what's it about"

Lisa sighed again, then handed the newspaper to him

As soon as Ishaan saw it, his eyes almost popped out of their sockets

"YOUNG LOOOOOOOOORRRRRRD !!! AT THE AGE OF SIX! WHAT NONSENSE! HAS IGNATIUS GONE SENILE?"

Lisa leaned on the wall and prepared herself to suffer for a while

'It'll take a bit until his mental health crisis passes ...'

"I TOLD HIM TO BRING HIM TO THE MANSION, NOT TO MAKE HIM A YOUNG LORDDDDDDDDDDDD! WHAT'S NEXT? WILL HE MAKE HIM THE HEIR?????"

She yawned while watching Ishaan tear the newspaper while saying countless, incoherent words.

In the Slums:

Maxton was sobbing while holding a newspaper and standing in front of the Safe House's doors

"What's wrong dude?" One of the safe house's guards asked him

"It's ... it's the Boss!"

"Which Boss?"

"The Purple - Ahh - The Purple Saint"

"Why are you crying dude? What about him? Did he come?"

Maxton shook his head

"I need to enter, Let me in!!!!"

Usually, he would never let Maxton enter the safe house, Bones was strictly against it.

(Whenever that idiot enters he keeps bugging me about when will Leus return.

If I ever see him inside again, I'll kick you out of the entire territory.)

These were Bones' words to the guard

'But now ...'

There seemed to be something important, but the Guard wasn't really able to understand what it was.

He quickly devised a plan

'If it turns out to be something really important and I didn't let him in, then I'd get punished, if it turns out to be something silly, then I can just blame Maxton.'

He opened the door and let Maxton in.

Maxton ran and pushed the curtains open, interrupting a meeting Bones and Scar were holding with the Engineer regarding their tunnels.

"Who let this idiot in?" Bones asked in an angry tone

Maxton waved the newspaper while sobbing

"See! The Purple Saint! Read!"

Bones tilted his head

"Do you know how to read, Maxton?"

"No, but I saw Boss' picture, so I paid someone to read it to me"

'This idiot's brain works selectively huh'

While Bones was thinking about that, Scar got up, gripped the newspaper from his hand, and read the headline.

A grin appeared on his face

"Leus made it, he entered the Red Mansion!"

Kyle raised his fist in the air

"YES!"

"I didn't expect any less from the kid, he's a genius" Bones said

"Let's hold a party tonight, a party in Leus' honor" Said Melisandre from beside Scar.

Inside the Citadel:

Fiadh was in his office, a rare occurrence.

He was holding the newspaper and staring at Leus' image with interest.

'I see ...'

He began tapping on Leus' hair

'Interesting'

Not far from him, Breena was in her office as well, but the difference in the atmosphere was astounding.

She was staring at Leus' image with pure hatred, grinding her teeth while the entire office was filled to the brim with her killing intent.

She was obsessed with only a single idea.

'I will kill you'

'DIE'

'DIE'

"DIE"

Ahh, I finally did it ...

Sudden POV shifts, what do you guys think?

I have been avoiding it as much as possible, mostly trying to give the readers a *smooth* transition from one POV to another unless absolutely necessary.

But after 250+ chapters it couldn't be helped, there was no way for me to create a smooth transition between all the side chars, so I opted for this ...
