Finishing Business

Leus and Arno kept talking for a bit more about how Leus would proceed from this point and what the plans were.

Arno encouraged him to start with a Light abstract

"Although Water and Fire abstracts will be easier for you, You really need a Light Abstract now, You'll understand why once you enter the Barrier"

And didn't elaborate more, So Leus just agreed

Leus also had something on his mind that he wanted to talk about

"My Earth spells, Shield and Spear, disappear after I stop controlling them"

Arno nodded

"It's a defensive function, that's how it's meant to be."

"I understand that, But what if I want to create rocks?"

"Rocks? Just rocks? Like building stones and such?"

"Yes"

"It's very easy, These spells aren't that common here because not many people have an Earth Affinity, I also only focused on combat spells for you, That's why you didn't come across them yet."

Arno took out a pen and a piece of paper from his magical pouch and started writing something, Then handed it to Leus

"Stone and Ice cube, These are really simple spells, You'll learn them in a couple of minutes.

As the name implies, Stone creates building stones and Ice Cube creates an ice cube.

If you silently cast Stone then you'll be able to create walls, However, don't think about using them instead of Shield, they're weaker."

Leus nodded and once again thanked Arno

"Thank you for everything, Master, I don't know how to repay you."

Arno just waved his hand

"Don't worry about that, I know how to gain my profits. Just focus on your training, What will you do now?"

"I'll change then go home, and I'll come back soon and start training on a Light Abstract as we've agreed."

"Very well.

Still, your training will be different—you'll be inside the Barrier without any way for outsiders to reach you.

Talk to the Guards about what to do in emergencies.

After Arno finished talking he got up

"If there's anything you need then let me know"

Arno left the room

Leus read the two spells and memorized their incantations, Then chanted each spell two times, Creating small stones and tiny ice cubes

'Pretty easy, That should be enough'

He opened the door of the bedroom that was behind the desk and went inside.

The room looked very similar to the bedroom of the other training room, The only difference is that it had a big wardrobe in it, Leus walked towards it and opened it

A smile appeared on his face

'Perfect'

There were clothes of all shapes and sizes inside the wardrobe, Leus took out a shirt and pants and decided to shower and wear them.

'A shower that's not in the middle of the street this time'

Unexpectedly, Showering was difficult for Leus, He was alone, and disturbing thoughts kept irritating him.

As soon as he was free, the memories that haunted him kept flashing in front of his eyes, and the pain in his chest returned.

As quickly as he could, He finished everything and left the room.

It was still morning, People were starting to come to the Library and some were already inside.

Seeing people around him eased Leus' mind a little bit, and he decided to go and talk to the guards about his future plans.

Both Felix and Robert noticed Leus slowly approaching them, They both looked at each other and gulped, Then prepared themselves with a deep breath.

As soon as Leus entered his line of sight, Felix saluted, Bowed, Looked down, and spoke in an apologetic tone

"I'm sorry, Young Master, it was a huge misunderstanding, The fault is entirely mine, I apologize."

In the beginning, Leus felt extremely awkward and embarrassed with all the bows and salutes, but when Felix started talking he became confused

'What the hell is he talking about?'

"Ah? - I'm Leus, What's your name?"

Felix put his right hand on his heart

"Guardian Felix"

Leus inwardly facepalmed

"Nice to meet you, Felix, What are you talking about?"

Felix gulped and looked at Robert for help, Robert took the cue and started talking

Felix looked at Robert again and Robert quickly said

Leus explained briefly about his situation and added

"During my training, if someone from the Slums asks about me and it's not urgent, tell them to wait.

If it's an emergency, help them, and make it clear that you're following my direct orders, and I'll take full responsibility."

Both the guards simultaneously nodded, it was their job to follow the orders of the Master and the Emblem Holder.

Felix had a question

"What if it's a family member, Is there something you need us to do then?"

"I highly doubt that my family would ever come, But do the same thing.

However, if it's a serious matter, then contact Master Arno and he'll do what's required."

The guards nodded again, But then Leus added something

"Also, Can you guys stop with all the embarrassing things you do? All the bowing and saluting, I want nothing of it"

Robert felt reluctant, But as Felix felt guilty about what he did he quickly agreed

"Yes sir, We'll stop"

Leus smiled and thanked the guards

"Thank you very much, Tell our conversation to the other guards and tell them to do the exact same things"

Felix and Robert replied simultaneously

"Yes sir"

And so, Leus' business in the library was finished for now, He exited through the door and walked towards his house

'I miss home, I miss mom'
