The Abandoned Restaurant

Elin understood about something worse going to happen with her if she won't run away now. So, Elin stood up on her place and walked out of the house to help her father in shifting the luggage into the car.

After the breakfast, Serin washed her hands and wiped with Elin's scarf which Elin forgot on her chair. It was her brand new favourite scarf which she was going to wear on this journey. But Serin's revengeful mind planned something best. She took the scarf, wiped table and plates and kept it back on its place.

Elin came inside to take out her belongings, and also took her scarf and wore it around her neck in a hurry. She didn't notice the stains on her scarf. And like a fool, she wore it and went out. Serin smirked at her sister and went out too.

Serin became emotional after thinking about leaving her city, Seoul. She was scared thinking about her grandparents if they don't let them go back home. She was scared to live forever in the countryside of Daegu if anything happens.

No TV, no video games, no comics, no anime, no karaoke, no parties, no friends, no pizza, no hamburgers. Also, she was going to miss her room, her house, her favourite city Seoul.

She was only going for just a vacation but was behaving like she would be not coming back here again for a long time. She didn't know why she was thinking like that but it was a strong feeling. She ignored her thoughts assuming that they would become her bad dreams at night and sat inside the car on the back seat, with her younger sister Elin.

Mr Smith turned the car engine on and the small Smith family set out on their journey towards Daegu. Serin put on her headphones and started listening to some kpop songs, admiring the beautiful roads on her way.

"Please stop the car. I've been sitting in the car for the past two hours. Let's stop somewhere and take some rest", Serin whined as she was sitting for the last two hours in the car of boring adventure.

"Just one and a half-hour more to go baby. Keep patience", Mr Smith said reassuring her, calming down her daughter's rage. Serin crossed her arms and leaned her head back on the seat. Continuing to look out of the car window, she closed her eyes.

"You were never tired of going out with your friends on long drives", Elin said, taunting Serin.

Serin was tired to fight with her. The fact that without even knowing Elin was wearing her damaged scarf was enough for Serin to stay calm. She ignored her and tried to recall her happy memories with her best friends.

Yes, she never felt tired of going out with her best friends because they never let her get bored. This journey was all boring for her as compared to long drives with her best friends. Mr and Mrs Smith kept only discussing about the countryside and their childhood memories, while Serin's little demon sister was all interested in listening to them.

But not Serin. She ignored them all the way listening to her favourite bands and went back into the time when she went on a long drive for the first time with her friends.

Serin is the youngest in her girl group. It was her 18th birthday, she and her friends went on a long drive for the first time, playing their favourite playlist of EXO, GOT7 and BTS. Singing and enjoying, they reached a small restaurant on the highway.

"Hey look at that small restaurant! let's go in there. I am hungry!", Xichi exclaimed.

Jinnie, the eldest who was driving, stopped the car out of that restaurant and parked it. The girls stepped out of the car and admired the small, old, but exciting restaurant in front of their eyes, which looked abandoned at the same time. It was their first time visiting that place and that restaurant.

The restaurant was old looking, with no customers around, perfect as Serin's type. They decided to give that oldie a try and walked inside. There weren't any customers inside, neither the owner.

"What is this? No one?", Jinnie mumbled while glancing around in the reception area, in a whirl.

"Let's go and check around if there is someone", Xichi chuckled excitedly and walked towards the staircase. Girls decided to split and find why there wasn't anyone around.

"Do you think we should go? There isn't anyone here, let's go back", sojin mumbled, she was afraid to go inside. She tried to convince other girls but they didn't listen to her.

"Don't let the fun get ruin, Sojin. Just keep walking and come back to this place after 10 minutes", Serin said and left the girls behind to discover more about the restaurant with no customers.

Everyone agreed and decided to meet again after a few minutes at the exact place from where they split. They took different ways, Sojin went out, Xichi went upstairs, Jinnie went into the kitchen and Serin went downstairs in the basement.

It was dark down there, she thought nobody would be there so she decided to go back upstairs. But when she was about to turn back, she felt a cold breeze touching her body. She immediately turned back to see what was that. It was summer, so cold breeze can't enter the room because summers of South Korea are very hot.

Her puzzled mind decided to find out from where the cold breeze touched her body. She walked forward towards the boxes which were kept on the floor. Behind them was something big kept covered with a silk cloth, she glared at it in bamboozlement. A cold breeze again touched her body when she saw that thing, sending shivers down her spine. It was coming through that big covered item.

She decided to pull down the cloth, but before she could, suddenly purple mist gathered inside the basement from nowhere in seconds. The mist was too much that she got dizzy and faint away falling on the floor of the basement.

A sudden sound of horn made Serin wake up from her dreams. "We're back to our home babies", Mr Smith said cheerfully.

Serin blinked her eyes for a few seconds before looking out of the car window. Her head unexpectedly came to be aching from pain, the same as it was on that day when she fainted in the basement.

She shooked her head and got off her car, closing the door behind. "Seriously dad? Home? Do this old ghost house as thing looks to you as a home?", Serin said with an odd mixture of confusion and annoyance. Her mother made big eyes to make Serin shut her mouth, which she did.

Serin noticed her mother getting angry, so she kept quiet and helped her father to remove bags from the trunk.
