The Angel of Death - Chapter 1 - Hannibal x OC

She awoke with a start, her legs and arms bound to the bed she lay on. She stared up at the ceiling, counting the squares that lay above her. On her eighteenth birthday she had noticed things had started changing around her. Objects started moving when she looked at them, electricity and insects started to present around her, wherever she went. She had tried to chalk it all up to her imagination, but a week after this began, she started hearing him. A rich, smooth voice. Guiding her through her delusions, before the voice became more erratic, dangerous.

She awoke in the hospital several days later, blood lining her white dress, bound to her bed and sedated. At first, she believed it to be her own blood, until she realised it wasn't. She had refused to talk, her sedation made her blurry, the voice in her head was quiet, but still consoled her. The insects had only visited her a few times, but the electricity in the air was still present. Everything was in slow motion. What had she done? Would they tell her? She could see the anger or sympathy in the nurses faces as they saw to her. Whispering as they came in and out, she was being sent to Baltimore State Hospital for the criminally insane.

Everything had blurred into one, the nurses, the doctors, to her were just blurred messes. When they spoke, it was just noise to her. Until he came…

A man, dressed in a suit with a stoic face had entered her room. From his badge, she could see he was a psychiatrist. The world around them blurred but he remained still and visible in front of her.

'Luna Menzies. Newly diagnosed schizophrenic, committed for murder.' His voice was smooth, rich like the voice in her head. He had a glow about him, or was it just the electricity she could see behind him?

'Are you an angel?' her voice came out as a whisper, the first words she had spoken in days.

His handsome, stoic face gave a slight smile, before he walked around the bed to sit in the chair directly beside her. 'Would you like me to be?'

He brushed a stray blonde hair out of her face, a sympathetic look dawning his features as he took in her dishevelled appearance. She simply stared at him, mouth agape, but no further words came from her that day. The voice in her head had silenced, the first time for what felt so long.

'I am Dr. Hannibal Lecter. I have taken over your case and will be your psychiatrist. They will be transferring you to Baltimore State Hospital for the criminally insane and I will visit you there.' He spoke to the point, pronouncing each word in a calm and stoic manner, before turning and exiting the room, passing by a man with messy brown hair who watched both her and her doctor with intensity. The man who had brought her here, Will Graham.
