43:Makenzie is a Threat

“Pass the eggs.” Aiden requested.

“You’ve eaten six already.” Bennett chided his little brother. “You want my mate to think you’re a pig, not a wolf shifter?”

The brothers laughed quietly with one another. Familiar. Friendly. Like breakfast with brothers should be.

As Stella got up to prepare more eggs and bacon for the hungry bunch.

“I’m just happy you’re all alive and well.” She told them honestly. Placing a large platter of generously cut toast, slathered with fresh butter.

“I told you not to worry.” Dana chided

“I know you did.” Stella admitted. “It’s just that I’ve never been through anything like this before. I was so worried.” She trailed off. Grabbed some juice from the fridge. More to steady her frazzled nerves than to refill their glasses.

“All we need is a few hours of rest.” Bennett added. “Most of the time.”

Stella raised an eyebrow at that last comment. “That’s the part that worries me.” She reminded him.
