CHAPTER 35 Disguise

　　Wren's POV

　　He smiled. "What's wrong? My mate, why did you take so long to come?"

　　My expression seemed to stiffen for a moment, but I quickly adjusted it. "Nothing; I'm going to sleep."

　　"Do you mind if I come in?"

　　"Yes, I do."

　　"Because it appears that we are having an affair?"

　　I looked at him in silence and pursed my lips. "No, because my family is here."

　　"Even if it's your mate?"

　　"No, and besides..."

　　I immediately cut off the rest of my words and swallowed back the phrase "a proper mate would use the door and not crawl in through people's windows."

　　"Hmm?"

　　"Nothing; I really need to sleep."

　　He laughed again, but this time his smile seemed a bit different from before. However, before I had a chance to look closer, the feeling of something being off disappeared.

　　"Okay, I won't come in."

　　I hummed from my throat, "Mm."

　　"You should go to sleep soon. I'll leave after you fall asleep."
