Taking care of humans—or anyone actually—would always end with Nicholai's party as the only ones alive. However, whenever Darius asked not to do anything, that was when things get tricky. It's good that they brought a witch with them this time. Having an executioner as a henchman was a good thing. Nicholai wondered if he would end up having one for his own use soon.
However, since Darius was the master of this executioner, perhaps Nicholai could just pass such things over to her. After all, the spared ones were always dependent on Darius's mercy.
With the humans dealt with, Nicholai only waited for Frey's report about Soraya Kalchik. That one—he was so sure that Darius wouldn't spare her. To make up for failing to handle the problem with Kaylin Verlaine and Archer Weiss, he would present Soraya Kalchik's corpse to his mate.
