SEVENTEEN

I stood confused of what to do or say. Should I run after Genevieve or Olivia? I thought within me. " I think you should go after Olivia." Bart say to me. As if  he knew what I was thinking. But I didn't want to go after Olivia but Genevieve. How should I tell them, I thought to myself.  Anyways I walked out of the workers lounge angrily. Akira and Bart didn't dare say a word to me because I was fuming. " Office trouble…Aye ya ya " Bart say, cleaning the sweat bead from his forehead. I overheard him as I walked out of the staff lounge but I ignored him. 

I walk to Olivia's office. I gave her an office to handle some of the company business affairs, as my wife. I mean I didn't want people to get the idea that we were just in a contract marriage, that was why I brought her closer to be with me. As I approached her office, I noticed from the corner of my eye that Genevieve had packed her work tools about to leave the company again. I couldn't let this happen. I let Genevieve slip away from my hands the first time and I'm not letting it happen again. I quickly rush to meet Genevieve, " what are you doing?" I ask Genevieve, looking into the brown cardboard box she was holding in her hands. " What do you think?" Genevieve say to me, snapping back angrily. " You want me to become your wife's toy?.. See the way she talks to me like she is the one feeding me." Genevieve say to me, pushing me away from her way, as she walks out. " But should you just give up and leave?" I ask Genevieve, who was already walking out of the company. She ignores me the more. " So you are just going to  leave your job because a woman you didn't  like humiliated you.. are you a coward?" I ask Genevieve again and this time, she halted on her fast pace to out of the company, backing me." I am not a coward and I can certainly defend myself against Olivia. I am just respecting her because she is your wife." Genevieve say to me, now even walking out faster. "She is not my wife?" I say to Genevieve, not knowing Akira and Bart were eavesdropping on my conversation with Genevieve. "What did you say?" Genevieve ask me. This time around she turned to look at me from the distance, she was in. " It's a fake marriage… I just didn't want to look some a certain type of way to my workers, that is why I and Olivia decided to do a fake marriage. But she's not my wife." I say to Genevieve, looking at her to get a reaction from her. She didn't really react the way I expected. She looks calm, like she was planning on doing something to take revenge on Olivia. " Are you joking? " Genevieve ask me, slowly walking towards me. " Yes! I'm serious." I say to Genevieve, nodding my head. " So why are you then telling me.. You let her humiliate me and couldn't take charge as the owner of the company and you want me to stay back?" Genevieve say to me, waiting for an answer. It was as if she already got hints that I have feelings for her. If not I wouldn't be explaining anything to her. I didn't want it to be so obvious, so I gave her a stern look " Don't think I owe you any explanation for Olivia's actions. She's part of this company, so she also has authority too." I say to Genevieve, who  became sad, I knew she felt like a piece of trash, that was been thrown around. " Well then you have made your choice. I can't continue to work here. I haven't even stayed up to three hours and I'm been ridiculed by you and Olivia." Genevieve say to me, turning back to leave the company. My ego won't let me be truthful to myself or Genevieve. I really love her and can't stay without seeing her. I need to say something to make her return back to her office. " I don't remember firing you from your job, and remember what I told you… if you dare leave this company, be prepared to live the rest of your life without a job, because I will tell the press to release a statement that will ruin your life." I say to Genevieve, who froze immediately, where she stood. " Why do you hate me so much? Why have you and Olivia choose to ridicule me, any how you like?"  Genevieve say to me, crying softly. I hated myself for making Genevieve cry, but my ego got the better part of me " Crying won't solve anything. You either go back to your office or leave and regret it." I say to Genevieve, walking out on her. I realized Bart and Akira has been eavesdropping on my conversation. " Did I pay you people to stand there and listen to gossip?" I say to Bart and Akira, with an angry look. " I'm sorry boss." Bart say to me, leaving almost immediately after his statement . " Boss.. please don't be mad." Akira say to me, also running back to her office. I turned back to where Genevieve stood, but noticed she was gone. I felt so mad at myself for talking to her that way. I knew that my heart beats for her and I am always attracted to her.  But I just didn't re know how to express my feelings in a way that will make it obvious that I love her and couldn't stay a minute without thinking about her.  I stormed angrily to my office, disappointed at myself. I met Olivia sitting in my office, waiting for me. " I don't want to talk now… please leave my office." I say to Olivia, waiting for her to leave." I saw what you did to Genevieve, I am happy you supported me." Olivia say to me, giving me the naughty look.
