"Liam!"
…
"Liam, wake up, honey!"
Liam turned his sleeping position sideways and groaned softly.
"Five more minutes, Mom," he whispered.
"Wake up. Didn't you say you wanted to come to the capital to get a rare medical journal from the desert doctors?" a woman's voice made Liam moan softly.
Liam forced himself to get up. He looked at the half-opened door of his room with his eyes still sticky, and the maids pacing back and forth tidying up the clothes he was about to bring with him. Liam jumped off the bed, out of the room, and looked left and right.
His mother had disappeared, perhaps returning to her own room after making sure she had woken him.
Liam climbed the stairs and then walked down the hall to his parents' room and when he got to the door, he groaned in annoyance to see his father still shaving.
"Come on, Dad's still shaving and Mom already woke me up?" Liam took a deep breath and plopped down onto the sofa.
