Chapter 1

Iris's POV

Another day of hectic work.

hmm sometimes I wonder when all these loaded work will end.

As I struggled to get out of bed, my beta Anna barged inside the room.

"oh my gosh, can't you even knock?"

Ignoring me, she said,"The council elders are waiting for us, someone infiltrated the pack house yesterday and fortunately we caught him."

I raised a brow,"A rogue?"

"No,he said he was sent to kill you, but even after we've tortured him he still hasn't said anything about who sent him."

"Then why involve the council elders?"

Anna rolled her eyes.

"We're talking about your safety here iris, your safety.Now get up and go dress."

"You're even worse than my mom, with this nagging of yours you'll have wrinkles."Then I immediately dashed inside the bathroom laughing.

Anna just shook her head and left the room.

Of course, I'm always mischievous in front of Anna.Aside from being my beta, she has been my best friend and sister since we were kids.Even though she's three years older than me, she still gives me the respect I deserve as an alpha.

As I bathed, i couldn't help thinking about the dumb fool that tried to kill me.'i mean who the hell sent him here.If he won't talk, I'll just have to cut off every part of his body well except for his tongue hmp I'll show him what real torture is'.And right then my bluish sliver eyes gleamed with darkness.

"Anna".I called mind linking my beta as I walked down the stairs.

"What is it?"came the reply and I made a mental chuckle.

"Em can you please hold the meeting for some time?"

"You've got to be kidding me, why?"

"I want to see mother."

"Can't that wait until after the meeting, iris we're all worried about you especially me, i don't even know what i will do if something bed had happened to you last night or even any other day.So please come and let us settle this once and for all."

"Aw, that's so cute, i know you care most about me so I'm coming, okay?"

"Mmm, just come here fast, we'll talk about the issue with your mom later."

"Got it."And with that i cut the mind link and rushed to the council room downstairs.

Upon entering the room, I caught sight of a young man bleeding profusely.'Is this how to torture somebody, no wonder he won't talk,scumbag'.I then walked towards him.

The young man raised his eyes and immediately he saw me he started shouting.

"You fool, how dare you be the alpha.How can a woman be an alpha.Never. You can kill me now but all i will say is that if you don't surrender your position my master won't stop until you're dead, you sl..."

Before he could say any other word, iris slashed his throat in anger.

"Iris". Anna held my hand stopping me from cutting his body to pieces.The other council members were still shocked at what just happened.

"I thought you said you'll make him talk, you just killed him now."

"Don't worry Anna, he won't talk anyway."She swatted her hand away.

"Tell Nick and Shawn to continue guarding the Wall, any unwanted person that sneaks in again, they will be the one to pay for it.Meeting closed."She walked towards the door.Beta Anna looked at her worriedly.

"Iris, are you feeling alright?"

"I'm fine, I'll go see mother now."With that she left the room.

Anna then mind linked the pack guards.

"Nick, Shawn you guys should better buckle up, the alpha is very angry right now so no mistakes again,am I clear?"

"Yes,beta Anna". The two replied in unison.

"Get back to work". She then cut the mind link and faced the council members.

"What are you guys still doing here?". She shouted relieving them of their shocked state.

"Oh oh beta, were going now, were going."They all rushed out of the room.

Anna faced the dead body and looked at it pity fully,"Okay, time to clean this mess."
