"Aren't they a little too efficient?" Blaise pondered out loud, scratching his head. "We just got done with one batch. Why is there another one here already?"
"The one that escaped most likely brought intel back that you're injured," Damon said, sighing. He kicked Lydia's head as though it was a soccer ball, watching it bounce a few times before stopping a couple of feet away. "Doesn't help that there's the smell of blood lingering in the air. Those bloodsuckers are idiots― they probably thought that it was your blood."
"Well, they'll sure be in for a surprise," Blaise said with a sadistic smile.
Goosebumps flared up all over my skin as I watched the brothers converse. My eyes fixated especially on Blaise, who was wearing all sorts of expressions I had never seen before.
