CHAPTER 53

ALPHA KIAN POV

I looked into Ferno's eyes.

It was enough.

I couldn't let a monster like him tag around my beta for too long. My beta was soft even though he looked icy and he liked Ferno too, so I was going to help him.

I channeled my wolf and let him take over. My teeth switched to that of my wolf and I snapped Ferno's neck before he could see me coming.

His blood splattered over my mouth and face and I deepened my teeth into the veins of his neck. Then, he let out a final gasp and I let go of his neck and he dropped to the floor, lifeless.

I took back control and watched Gillian sob as he neared his dead father. I understood if he loathed me. I wiped my lips and turned around to leave when I saw my beta staring at me with glazed eyes.

"Sorry," I blurted. When it came to my beta I was sometimes tongue-tied. Out of everyone in my pack, I didn't want him to hate me.

My beta walked towards me or so I thought.

He walked past me to Ferno who lay lifeless on the floor.
