Chapter 12: The Promise

"Ella!"

Liam caught Ella accurately and said with a straight face, "Ella, don't do that again. If I don't catch you, you will fall down."

"I believe in you, Daddy," Ella said with a smile.

Liam's heart was filled with warmth when he heard that, and he gently stroked Ella's little nose. "Good girl, but don't do it again."

"Yes! Daddy, did Grandpa and Grandma leave?" Ella asked curiously.

"They have something to do and have left. They'll come to see you next time."

"Okay." After saying that, Ella loosened her arms around Liam's neck and said to Asher, who was holding a small toy plane next to her, "Asher, shall we go out to play on the grass?"

"Go! Your toys will be here soon."

"Toys? Did you buy us toys, daddy?" Ella excitedly asked.

"Yes, I have brought back all the toys in the toy store for you." Liam doted on them very much.

Ella’s eyes widened. "Wow! I want a doll, crayons, and a bicycle..."
