Casper was aware that a greater force, or rather a greater being had arrived; for the fact that the other had been able to fix him at one point, had made him unable to make even the tiniest of motion, was a startling indication of that point. He knew that wisdom demanded that he bow his head in shame and leave with his companions, knowing that the latter was a creature of the night, a vampire, but he was afraid of his queen.
