~~~(POV: Scott Autumn)~~~
~~~(Location: Immortalitas)~~~
Durado isn't going to be happy when he's released, but he likely won't know that anything occurred at all. My attention is fully on Aurora now, and she's calmly waiting for me to speak.
"You said that there is much for me to learn about The Primeval Inherent and the Parasite. Now is as good a time as any."
She smiles lightly and snaps her fingers as multiple monitors show continuous information.
My mind is already storing and analyzing the information, and to say it's graphic is an understatement.
"The Primeval Inherent is a hyper-intelligent hivemind of the Parasite. However, its history is far darker than what's logged in these data caches."
Her voice causes me to stop looking at the screens. She's right. This is all technical information.
Reproduction, spreading, how it furthers its infestation. It's all valuable information, but it's not anything that describes its history on a deeper level.
"From the information I've already gone through, the war between the Parasite and The Primordium was hundreds of millions of years ago. In a different galaxy too..."
I still haven't forgotten about my mission.
Reaching my homeworld is still on my to-do list, and there isn't anything on the horizon that'll stop that, except getting out of the Impyra galaxy now that it's being quarantined.
"You're correct, Scott. They came from a corner of the universe that hasn't been charted by The Primordium. Likely consuming several galaxies intelligent life to reach the stars."
Even The Primordium didn't know.
They didn't know the true origins of the Parasite...
"What do you know that isn't in these logs. It's obvious you wouldn't risk such information about the Parasite in any other place than in your figurative hands."
She raises her hands and claps them above her head. A new large screen is made out of nanotechnology, and more information is shown.
It's in The Primordium original language, and I know it by instinct like it's in my DNA or something.
"The Parasite was an organism that served only one function, the consumption of all intelligent life. When The Primordium engaged the Parasite in battle, it was obvious that we couldn't win. Not after all the worlds it had consumed."
She starts explaining as I read. To add some flavor to this lesson.
The Primordium is a Tier 0 civilization... An organism of unknown origins able to beat such an existence means that if the Parasite isn't stopped, it'll finish what it started.
"After so many failed plans, there was only a single option left, destruction on a universal scale. Even now, it's unknown how many species The Primordium didn't know about have perished."
Damn... Talk about dark...
Wiping out all life on a universal scale and reseeding the universe... Leaving the ones, The Primordium didn't save to be lost forever...
"How did The Primordium save each civilization, I assume, by some sort of storage facility or reconstruction protocol?"
She nods her head as she tosses her hand up, and a new screen forms out of nanites.
The screen shows more than I anticipated. So much had been done to preserve life... My theory on a form of storage was correct. After the cleansing of the universe occurred, The Primordium did something only Gods would do.
"My mission is to protect you from The Primeval Inherent and take you to The Primordium homeworld."
Her words ring in my head.
Many things could be possible on why we're going back, but I can't be sure.
"What's on The Primordium homeworld that I need? Besides, getting past the quarantine isn't going to be easy, not unless Immortalitas can literally jump between galaxies. Based on what I know, its max range is only galaxies within 150,000,000 lightyears."
My homeworld is far away from Impyra.
She smiles and snaps her fingers again, lighting up all of Immortalitas, and the ship lightly hums for a second.
"Then we better get a move on, and by the way, I'm not unfreezing your friend, not until we're in The Plero Galaxies Deep Core."
She knows exactly where my homeworld is, and as I finish that thought, my quest to reach my homeworld is updated.
