EP 68 - ONLY TWO MORE?!

"Are you sure he still lives around here?" Avyanna nagged for the umpteenth time.

The Adventurers were weary and were in urgent need of some rest. Conrad had suggested that they pass through the Village hidden behind the Broken peaks as he had some connections

"I am positively sure." He replied. " Lenny is a very good friend of mine ...or was it Kenny ..Anyways, I'm pretty sure if is that he'll be happy to have us."

"When last did you see this ...Kenny?" Kyra queried.

Conrad scratched his hair. "A few years ago , I think. But we didn't exactly part on good terms."

"What does that mean?" Levi questioned.

"And we have arrived !" Conrad announced to the little band.

It was a tattered old building with various wears and tears, creaky floors and the walls and furniture in dire need of maintenance.

They all walked in . Conrad moved away and rang the calling bell situated by the counter.

A giant of a man walked in and took a place by the counter. Folds of fat hung from his neck which was readily not seen. His wrinkled fingers were adorned with cheap rings as his abdomen pushed out in front of him.

He stared hard at the people before him and frowned when he saw Conrad.

"You Bastard..." He growled.

"Kenny..." Conrad smoked exaggeratedly.

"Its Benny." The man snarled .

Conrad clasped his hands together. "Benny...Long time , no see. How's business? Seems its booming!"

The man stared at him depraved.

Conrad sighed. "Okay , let me be honest with you. Me and my friends are passing through this village and need lodgings. I'm hoping you could help us out."

The man turned and nodded to another man that had appeared out of nowhere. Soon , the individuals in the area had multiplied and surrounded the Adventurers. carrying weapons ranged from sticks , bats to Knives and Blades.

"What's happening Conrad?" Avyanna asked , drawing out her Katana

"Apparently , Big man over there isn't quite fond of him." Levi replied as they all backed each other.

Benny arose from his seat with a sharp knife in hand as he advanced menacingly towards Conrad. "I gave you one job to do Conrad ...One job! But you didn't do it." He ranted.

"What is he talking about?" Percival inquired but the man held Conrad by his collar now. "Not only did you fail me ..." He spat angrily "You stole from me. And do you know what I do to little boys like you who fail me , Conrad?"

"Give them free accommodation in your ale house or Kindly send them on their way with gifts?" Conrad replied.

Benny nodded to his men.

"Sic 'em boys."

"Not this again." Kyra groaned as she broke the fingers of the man behind her.

"Why don't they ever learn?" Avyanna said as she punched another in his face as he slammed his head on the counter.

Conrad frowned. "I was really hoping we could be friends this time." Benny grinned wickedly as he was about to shove his knife into Conrad when he heard his ears began to ring.

Benny hit the floor and looked up. Conrad was holstering his gun as he felt blood trickle down his nose. He touched it and realized that his nose was no longer there.

It had been shot clean off.

His men didn't move as their noseless boss laid sprawled on the floor.

They Adventurers walked out of there and headed to the next inn.

Good news didn't await them there either.

The innkeeper handed them a two keys and left without saying a word though they had specifically requested for five rooms.

"So how are we going to do this?"Avyanna sighed.

The four started arguing and dragging for the keys. Conrad managed to get it but Levi pryed it out of his grasp.

"It's mine!" Conrad gnarled.

"If anyone is going to sleep without a room , it's definitely not me. I'm too handsome for that."

"That doesn't count." Avyanna yelled pinning him down and grabbing a key from him.Kyra snatched the other key from Conrad but he yanked her back and at the same time Avyanna made a misstep.

The two keys flew towards Percival as they magically fell into his palms.

They all stopped fighting and turned to face him.

"Percy..." Levi beckoned evily. "Hand over the keys."

"No Percival." Avyanna pushed him aside. "Give it to me. I'll keep it safe."

"Percival..." Kyra grinned.

Percival glanced at them anxiously and slipped the keys inside his armour. "No! What is this doing to you guys? You've all arguing for a couple of rooms! Let's talk about it." He gestured.

"He wants to keep the rooms for himself!" Conrad accused.

"No ...Of course not ..." Percival defended himself.

Kyra took out her Scythe and Levi fingered his daggers

"Let's cut him open." They said in unison as the others nodded in agreement . They all approached him grinning with maliciousness.

Percival gulped.
