EP 27- A PHONY!

Avyanna looked at Kyra as they headed in the direction in which they could get help for Conrad.She seemed so worried and concerned about him. They had a close bond that seemed unbreakable. They confided in each other and could talk to each other about everything.

Su ling looked at Obi who turned his face away in guilt.

"How did you and Conrad first meet?" Avyanna asked , hoping to distract Kyra from the thoughts of Conrad.

Kyra gave a little smile.

Avyanna was quizzed as Kyra had a quick glance at the blue sky, remembering the entire incident as if it was happening all over at that moment ...

She darted her eyes around her surroundings as she watched from the shadows.

Everywhere was busy. No one took notice of her .

It was like she wasn't even there.

For a long time she was been treated like an outcast . She spoke differently , acted strangely and thought higher than them.

That was their idea of a monster they should fear. She is treated like nothing because of who she was, half demon. They had expected her to accept their conformity .

She scoffed

Most people fear what they don't understand but embrace what they think they can control.

She didn't want to do this...

but she had to if she wanted to survive .

She studied various people and their Motions and settled on a a person who was moving along with the crowd , eager to get to somewhere. He wore a hat and looked as if he was from outta town .She spotted a ring in his palm but knew that wouldn't be of much value. She was almost downcast when she spotted a locket dangling, out of his pocket. It looked like genuine gold . She wasn't sure , but was about to find out.

She grinned .

He would be an easy catch.

As swift as an eagle she ran towards him and swipes it. Immediately the man raised an alarm and ran after her. She looked back and she saw that he was gaining on her. Curses rained on her as No one wanted her in that town.

But right now ...

This was her town ...

And she knew these streets better than anyone.

She made a sharp bend as the man followed her. When he finally caught up with her...

She had disappeared

"What are we looking for anyway?" Avyanna touched Kyra's arm bringing her back to reality..

They finally arrived at a Series of steps leading to a temple.

Kyra gulped.

She had finally met her long lasting enemy ...

Stairs.

Avyanna started up the stairs while Levi was coming up after her.

Kyra climbed a step and sighed in relief. One step passed. She looked up...

And a thousand more to go.

After using all of her energy to get up the stairs, She finally got to the top panting.

Kyra collapsed on the ground sweating all over. "Why did we have to climb all those steps?!" can't you just use your spell or something to spirit us away on top of the mountain.but Avyanna choose not to answer that.

Avyanna examined the temple they were now in . It was broken down and it was in ruins. It seemed no one had come here to worship in a very long time.

That means who she was looking for would be more ready to answer. so she thought.

She opened a pouch, she had recently acquired at their last stop and set down, brought out the heart of a goat .

"Ewwwww !!!! " Kyra recoiled in disgust. "You just carry that around!"

Avyanna began chanting.

"OH GREAT AND MIGHTY gOD OF THUNDER AND LIGHTNING, gOD OF WAR AND BATTLES HEED THE CALL OF YOUR WORSHIPPER AND ARISE!"

She set the goat's heart ablaze with a spell and continued as the smoke went heavenwards.

"Give us the wisdom to know the right thing to say.unbind our lips so we can speak the truth in this world of illusions.May your lightning strike fear in the heart of those who do evil and your thunder remind us of the collective power we have inside us." She shouted.

Lightening flashed across the sky as the distant rumble of thunder could be heard. Clouds merged together to form the shape of a white large ram.

Levi hissed at all this theatrical display.

"Who dares summon me!!! . A Fearsome being taking the shape of an old man emerged out of thin air.

Avyanna went on her knees and Kyra did also. One needed to be careful when dealing with gods like these. She looked back and saw Levi still standing.

He crossed his arms indiffferntly as he tapped his fingers rhythmically on his upper forehand. Avyanna beckoned for him to kneel.

Levi spoke in a chilling voice as he walked past her. "I bow to no one!"

He surged forward and grabbed the old man by his white beard and slammed him into the ground.He placed his booted door against his neck as the man whimpered."Talk! Anger me and I'll crush your skull and feed you your entrails to you!"

Kyra scurried to her feet and stood beside Levi. "Isn't he supposed to help us save Conrad?"

"You are a big sham, aren't you?! You're just a messenger boy, who decided to play around and can't lift a damned finger" Levi spat out. He pressed his boot harder against the man's neck. "Where is your master, "the all high and all powerful !"

Kyra did not want to give up yet."Do you know anyone that can fight the sphinx for us?"She spoke to the old man on the floor.

The man struggled to speak , gesticulating wildly. Levi relieved a little pressure from his neck , with hate still burning in his eyes. The messenger coughed to regain his breath and standing. "Great Divinity ".He said referring to Levi. " I cannot help you...

Levi grabbed his beard and was ready to fling him to another dimension. The old messager stuttered "Wait!!! Great Divinity "!!! . " I know someone who could help you. Summon , the Divine God of wisdom. He is all wise and knowing and has the answer to any problem . He must have a way to help you!"

Levi grunted and let him go and immediately he disappeared.

Kyra saw his disdain for the lower god. "What's wrong? Are you okay?" She touched his shoulder.

"Its nothing." He faced Avyanna .

" You heard that scum. Better get to work."
