The Adventurer's Guild Master

The world of Arcadia is a world filled with monsters, demonic beasts, dungeons and demons. In exchange for the countless monster often attacking the cities, humans were born with endless potential. Some were born with powerful physical strength; others were born with magical talent. However, with the endless hordes, death was the norm, and plenty of people still lived in the street. It was in such a world that Lux was reborn. Lux, a man from the modern world, awoke in the body of an orphan of seven years old with a distinct power: Invincible. An ability that would keep him alive and allow him to beat any of his opponents. Fifteen years later, Lux, twenty-two years old, stood in the alley where everything began. "I became the strongest and repelled countless monster hordes. It's now time to do what I always wished. I want to create the adventurer's guild and become its first head. I will offer a chance to those who never had any." “Ding!”

"You need to get some girls to work behind the counter, Lux~." Said Aysha as she came closer to him and hugged him while glaring slightly at the other three. "Why did the three of you laugh at me when that guy asked me on a date?" She asked with a pout.

"Well, it was funny when he told you that you were his compass and that he was lost without you considering, well, you know, your terrible sense of direction." Explained Kira with a small smile as Aysha was the excitable, happy, and slightly childish person on their team, and no one liked to see her sad.

"Yeah. Besides, why do you only target us three, L-." Started Ewan before stopping his sentence straight when he received Lux's glare. "I mean, it was that guy's fault, so it's not right to only target us three." He continued to save himself.

While Aysha was thinking about his words, Lux continued while petting her hair. "I'm sure you'll get better. Besides, we love you as you are, so there's no problem, alright?" He asked her as he hugged her back with a hand.

"Hum~." She nodded as her smile came back on her face, and she left the hug to continue talking with the others.

"So, it seems that during the day, there was a rumour that the adventurer's guild would need workers behind the counter along with waitresses, cooks and shop attendants were needed, and I received multiple requests to work here by almost over a hundred people." Started Keat as he brought everyone's attention to himself. "I asked them to come back at eight this evening as I figured you'd need workers as soon as possible." He explained.

"Keat's right. We can't continue working in the adventurer's guild like this. You should get workers to work while we do more important stuff such as adventuring for the three of us while Aysha starts with her medical bay, and you fully endorse the responsibilities of a guild master." Continued the tall green-haired elven young woman as she looked at her tall leader.

"You're right. I have already prepared a list of the workers we currently need. Hazel, please." Answered Lux as he called for Hazel to show the list of posts to fill.

[Yes, master. Here is the list.] She answered as a list appeared in front of everyone.

[Posts to fill in the Adventurer's Guild of Yria]

- Counter attendants: 21

- Dismantler: 9

- First floor supervisors: 6

- Task receiver: 4

- Healers: 6

- Cleaner: 3

- Cooks: 10

- Servers: 9

- Shop supervisor: 3

- Shop attendants: 6

[The list is the recommendation I made after calculating various scenarios. There will eventually be a need for more workers, but this number of workers should do the job.] Explained the adventurer system as Lux verified the list and nodded.

[I would recommend filling the positions as soon as possible, especially the counter attendants and the dismantlers. According to the level of interest of the new adventurers, adventurers will bring back a lot of monster corpses tomorrow.] She continued before falling silent.

"In that case, if Hazel will help us, I'll do the recruiting with Aysha." Said the elven woman as she took the healer by the hand and raised it.

"Sure, I'll leave it to you." Agreed on Lux as he knew that she was reliable despite her joyful demeanour.

"Hazel, have you collected the number of adventurers that have registered in the guild?" Asked the guild master as another list showed up in front of everyone.

[Adventurer's rank and their numbers in the Adventurer's Guild of Yria]

H: 769

G: 341

F: 7

E: 2

D: None

C: None

B: None

A: None

S: 4

SS: None

SSS: 1 (Guild master)

"Oh? Are there already some people who completed subjugation tasks and got their ranks reassessed?" Asked Lux in surprise.

"Yes, I took care of the verification of their task when they arrived, and Hazel assessed them." Exclaimed Ewan while he showed his muscle while waving his fist in the air.

[Adventurers completed 21 missions. They were mainly from the new adventurers who registered early in the morning. Amongst the missions completed, 13 were subjugation requests, but only nine ranked up, the other ones needing more training. The rest of the tasks were herb gathering missions which were all verified, completed and paid. The adventurer's guild made a profit of 24 bronze coins from the herb gathering missions taken due to the 5% handling fee. From the 13 subjugation missions completed, the guild made 65 bronze coins, with the average being one silver per subjugation. There were no bodies or body parts brought back.] Added Hazel as she understood the unasked question from her master.

"It's not bad to be able to make one silver coin in a day if we don't count the 5% handling fee. After all, for a silver coin, one can stay at a relatively good inn for the night, and a family of three only need about 20 silver coins per month to live a basic life." Said Keat as he was surprised at a price offered for a mere subjugation task. "I remember when we would have to fight through a group of goblins with a king for a silver coin." He said dejectedly. "They're lucky you decided to make the guild."

(AN: It's about one bronze = 1$ USD, one silver = 100$ USD, one gold 10,000$ USD. 100 bronze = 1 silver, 100 silver = 1 gold)

"Alright, enough talking. Aysha, come with me, we'll get ready for the interview with the future workers of the guild. Keat, Ewan, clean up the guildhall a bit, and Lux prepare us some food. It's been too long since I've eaten your cooking."

"Sure." The answer of the three men as they all got to their task while the two girls went to prepare some pens and paper and placed the table to make it seem like an interview when the people who wanted to work for the guild arrived.

---

Half an hour later, Lux finished cooking. He had been cooking on the second floor since he had not had the time to furnish the kitchen and buy food yet. "Hazel, please tell them that it's ready." Said the young man as he cleaned rapidly behind him.

As he heard the noise of the four climbing the stairs to the second floor, Lux took the five plates of food and brought them along with their drinks in a tray. "I made pasta today." He said as he placed the tray in the middle of the table as everyone took a plate and their respective drinks along with the fork and knife needed.

"Thanks." Answered the four as they immediately started to eat. They had all skipped lunch to help him open the adventurer's guild properly, and offering them food was the least he could do.

"So, are you two ready?" Asked Ewan as he looked at the two girls.

"Yes, everything's ready. We need to wait for the people to arrive, and tomorrow you'll have enough employees to operate the guild properly." Answered Kira as she took a mouthful of the food. "Hum~, it tastes as good as ever." She said praisingly, to Lux who merely nodded to the praise.

As they were finishing their food, Hazel interrupted. [Master, there is a man in front of the guild doors. According to his posture, clothes and other observations, he seems to be a shop owner, especially a shop owner selling herbs. Considering that he is not an adventurer, has a business, and I analyzed the herbs before having the adventurers complete their mission previously, the man is here to give another task to the guild.] Summarized Hazel as she deducted the reason for the man coming to the guild.

"Alright, I'll go and open. I'll leave the cleaning to you guys." He said before leaving the table with the two women following behind as they would put the finishing touches before the applicants arrived.

Arriving at the door, Lux opened it and welcomed the man inside the building. "Welcome to the adventurer's guild. What can we do for you today?"

"Hello, my name is Elias. I had a few missions completed previously in the guild regarding the herb collection. I want to leave a few more herb collecting missions to complete as soon as possible." Said the man approaching his thirties as he followed Lux, who was going to the counter.

"Previously, I couldn't ask the civilians to do the job for me since I couldn't spend my day to verify whether they brought back the right herb. However, now that the guild does the verification, I'm more than happy to give missions." He explained happily. He had needed a tremendous amount of herbs to work on his potions, hoping to develop more potent healing ones. However, due to the need for a precise kind of herb, he couldn't ask civilians since he would spend all his time verifying the herbs. The adventurer guild solved his problem completely.

"That's great. The purpose of the guild was to help everyone." Smiled Lux happily at having already helped change a few lives for the better.
