CHAPTER 7

[JAKE POV]

So this guy…. since I don't exactly know his name I'll just stick with monkey.... somehow that feels offensive to say in my mind, although he's literally a monkey using monkey as a name for him doesn't sit well with me, the only other distinguishing feature about him that separates him from other monkeys is the straw hat on his head and that scar bellow his left eye.

So either left scar or straw-hat….. straw-hat it is…

I try to catch up to straw hat to ask where he's taking me to, but he interrupts me.

"Hey Jake how bout a little race, lets see who can reach the top of that mountain"

He says while pointing in a specific direction, but what mountain is he talking about? There's no mountain here its just a large, empty expanse of land how would I not notice a mountain in this empty pla-

And as if the world was pulling my leg there was a mountain at the direction he was pointing at which obviously wasn't there before.

But before I could respond to straw hats challenge he had already taken off in the direction of the mountain so I tried catching up to him he looked back at me and sent me what was meant to be a taunting grin as he was making faces while using his stretchy powers then seemed to up his speed by a gear.5 minutes after doing this with no progress in beating him despite me running on all fours.

But as I increase my pace to catch up to him the large expanse of empty land suddenly seems to abruptly transform into a forest, with trees rising from the ground and not so random intervals, because it seems the closer I got to straw- hat the more the trees seemed to sprout up in front of me like some sort of blockade.

Well it seems that after some time of chasing straw hat and dodging the trees that he was using to prevent me from catching up I had finally caught up to the foot of the mountain, while straw hat seemed to be already half way there. Well it doesn't seem like its gonna be possible to reach the top before him, but on a more important note how am I going to get up there? I look to see what straw-hat's doing and as if sensing my gaze he stretches his arms to the top of the mountain and once he grabs the apex of the mountain he just lets his body get pulled to the top, more like getting dragged to the top and even getting his face hit by the rocky parts of the mountain but he seemed to come out unscathed despite how pretty much grinding his body against the body of the mountain.

After he got to the top he looked down at me from the top with a cheeky grin on his face, before letting something fall from the top to my face.

He dropped as banana peel on my face.

That damn monkey!!!

"STRAW-HAT!!!!"

I shouted out of irritation.

The individual of my rage was simply laughing his heart out, as his heart literally comically came out of his mouth before he started rolling in the air while laughing.

If I could only put that monkey in his place, so far he's only just been mocking me its time to give him a taste of his own medicine. I smirked evilly at the idea. But before I can do that I need to find some way of getting up there, and I need the monkey to learn how to use my stretchy powers if it wasn't obvious already at how he was very, very proficient in stretching his body and the other weird abilities like being able to roll on the air and how he can literally summon a forest from nowhere.

The only lead I have on regaining my stretchy powers is the weird energy..OK I've got to try and feel that weird energy again then try to control it better this time.

Look within Jake...look inside yourself, into your very being…..

The world seems to go dark for a moment, I felt myself floating in a void with nothing else apart from myself existing it , me, myself and I floating in the cold expanse of space, before I saw 'IT' , and by it I mean the weird energy that seemed to reside within me , it lit up the void in a bright golden light before dimming down. I took a good look at the ball of energy, observed it for a bit then I tried to will a part of the energy to move at my command and this time it took half the time it took before to move the energy but it seemed to yield the same result as before as only a small amount of energy moved in the direction I willed it to.

But before I could continue to test out more ways to move the.. no I'll call it stretch energy, yeah I know the name sucks but that's what I'll have to use when I'm referring to it for now until I come with a better one.

So like I was saying before I could continue experimenting with my stretch energy I heard a not so impressed sigh which was enough to break me out of my focus again I say damn that monkey.

Opening my eyes in a weird sense caused the world to come back to its original shape prior to me closing my eyes with the same monkey sitting there watching me from below with a disapproving look while shaking his head , he jabbed his arm into the top of the mountain and pulled out what looked like a megaphone. He then took a deep long breath because his chest seemed to puffing up like a cartoon character, I feel like he's going to do something stupid that will definitely irritate me.

And I was right, he then shouted into the mega phone with all his might.

"JAKE ...YOU DUMBASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I just face palmed at his action.

Next thing I knew due to how loud his shout was a rock slide had started to come down on me from the top of the mountain.

Being taught by him is going to be my hardest challenge in my two lives.

I then try to take off to avoid the rock slide, only for my body to kiss the ground as I look to my feet to see that there being held to the ground.

I look to straw hat who is smiling devilishly while rubbing his hands together like an evil mastermind.

I'm starting to slowly hate monkeys.
