No, I won't marry her (1)

Chapter two.

Elena looked at him as memories flooded back to her. She stared at him in shock. It has been years yet his handsome face has been imprinted in her memories. It is a face that she can't forget even if, she wakened up from a deep slumber.

"So this is the man, I was arranged to marry. " She laughed inwardly " A man that suddenly abandoned me and left without a word but why did he refuse to see me all this while. Was it because he already knows she was the one. He must have known, with his connection. He can't marry a lady without proper investigation. He refused to meet me on two occasions they arranged a date for us but why has he kept his face away from the public?"Many questions flooded her brain.

" So he is the great Alex everyone is afraid of? She should have known."

" We are here today, to witness the holy matrimony of Miss Elena Fredick and Mr. Alex Smith Williams.....

She was brought out of her thought with the sudden voice of the priest.

She looked up and looked at the man in front of her. He looked at her with an emotionless face without saying a single word. Does it mean he can't remember me? or was it a chared ? that question was among many that flooded her through her mind.

Throughout the wedding, all sermons and everything was beyond her hearing. Elena's emotions and mood were at clergies of dispatching. She only reacted when Alex whispered into her ear "Elena are you going to stare into the space? Let's be done with this wedding for once?" She was shocked at how her name rolled out of his tongue like it was yesterday but this time, his voice was without any emotions. So she jolted out from her thought as she heard the word.

" Mr. Alex Smith Williams, do you take Miss Elena Fredrick as your lawful wife, in good health, Sickness and, disease."

"Yes, I do." his emotionless voice rang out throughout the church after sometimes of silence.

" Miss Elena Williams, do you take Mr. Alex Smith Williams as your lawful husband in good health, sickness, and disease."

Elena looked at his godly handsome face which has been imprinted into her memory only that he was more mature and handsome and Swallowed her saliva nervously, for the first since this wedding. She felt something else except anger, hatred, and betrayal.

Standing in front of her was the same man. She has been in love for years and never for once stopped thinking about him but what she felt towards him now was no more only love but hatred and disappointment.

" Are you not going to talk?" she jolted when she felt his warm breath on her neck. It sent a sensation all over his body.

She looked up and noticed everyone including the priest was looking at her weirdly. She took a deep breath and swallowed her saliva

" Yes, I do." she finally said.

So ironic and boring she grunted inwardly.

After the exchange of rings, the priest announced " By the power invested in me as a priest. " I declare you both husband and wife. You may now kiss your bride " Shortly her veils were lifted.

She felt his warm lips on hers but it was only for a second before he withdraw.

Thundered applause rang out of the whole church. After the wedding, the family and friends came to congratulate them. After the wedding, Alex was first to leave.

Elena was never a person who loved to celebrate or associate with people of her class. She felt they were fake, boring but because of the occasion of the wedding. She chatted with them and laughed that her chin started hurting her.

She prayed that the so-called reception could be over soon. She needed to rest.

" Remember to be careful and respectful towards your husband. He is more dangerous and powerful than we thought so please be careful." her mum advised after the reception.

She wanted to shout at her and ask ' Why will you still allow me to marry him if you know he was dangerous .' but she held her mouth.

After the whole ceremony, Elena was tired of everything.

She leaned on the car and closed her eyes. The ride to whatever place they were going was silent. Elena leaned on the leather place and closed her.

Alex looked at the person beside him with the corner of his eyes, she still looks beautiful and innocent when sleeping.

He must say that the first time he saw her walk through the aisle. He was very stunned by her beauty. Throughout the wedding, he saw a series of complicated emotions running through her eyes.

Though, throughout the years she has changed both in attitude and character.

She looks more mature and beautiful now but her innocent and cute behavior was gone.

He must say that he agreed to marry her because of his father's threat but was surprised when he found out he was the same girl that has held his heart for years. The same he hated and loved so much at the same time.

He wanted to protect yet punish her for everything she made him go through.

When he found out that she was the daughter of the senator. He was quite surprised and at the same time angry. The innocent girl he knew had turned to be a gangster. For many years since he came back to America, he has heard the news about the Senator's daughter beating one person on the other but he was never interested in discussing someone's life.

The innocent, cute, and clingy girl he knew for years was gone. All that remained of her was a fierce girl.

He looked at the sleeping beauty beside her and had the urge to run his hands across her lovely long hair which was styled. She regain her innocent face while sleeping but it was gone the moment her eyes were opened.

The first time, his father stepped into the place and told him about his intended marriage he felt challenged for the first time and wanted to fight.......

The next chapter will be remembrance. Things that occur before the wedding.
