Chapter 30 Put Your Company out of Business!

The next morning, Shelton made breakfast and came back to the room when Vera came out of the bathroom.

"Something wrong?"

Seeing Shelton looking at her, Vera asked lightly.

"Here's the thing," Shelton said, "one of my classmates is working at the headquarters of a bank. He came to the State of New York yesterday on business. I thought I'd ask him if he could give you a loan. Maybe I won't be back to make lunch. You'll have to talk to Mom. She's going to scold me."

"Okay."

Vera replied briefly. She picked up her phone and transferred 400 dollars to Shelton.

"That's..."

Shelton was confused.

"I don't expect you to help me, but you're a man. You'll be looked down upon by your classmate if you don't have the money to pay the bill. Don't tell my mom."

After that, Vera took her bag and went downstairs.

Shelton froze for a minute and felt warm.
