The 101

High above the earth, floating in space above earth was the space station the ark. An orbiting space where the remaining survivors of humanity lived together in cramped space and terrible conditions. When the nuclear apocalypse occurred, the surviving humans fled to space and decided to live on a space station. 12 stations worked together and pooled their resources and populations creating the Ark. The bad thing about the Ark is it has strict restrictions such as you can only have one child on the Ark per family and even minor infractions will have anyone under 17 locked up and have anyone who is legally adult "floated" which is a death sentence where they are ejected into space.

One of the surviving humans is Nicholas Cross or Nick as he liked to be called. Nick is a 17-Year-old guard Lieutenant born on mecha station. Nick's father was floated 7 years ago for stealing food and his mother died from the flu a year later. After their death Nick was in a bad way until he met a guard name Bill Bishop who took him in after his mother's death and started teaching him how to work as a guard, combat training and earth tracking and weapons skills. Because of the limited ammo on the Ark Bill could not teach him much about shooting with a gun, But Bill had an old relic, a Stryker crossbow which he got special permission from Chancellor Jaha to give to Nick for when he becomes a guard instead of a gun which was accepted because of the lack of ammo. They went to the shooting range in where after nearly 5 year of intense training Nick became a master sharpshooter and is also particularly good with a knife which he got as a present for becoming a chief guard at the age of 13. The reason Nick has gone through the ranks so fast is because of his skills and the council thought if they had a younger face around it would show the other younger generation to me more responsible. Nick cross was often charged with looking over the Prison Station also known as the Sky Box and Lockup. It is the station that contained the juvenile prison where the Delinquents remained before being sent to Earth. Those who are under the age of majority when convicted of a crime are sent to the Sky Box until the age of 18. At 18, The Council reviews their case, and it is decided if they should be executed or released.

Nicholas at the age of 17 was tall was about 6ft1 was strong but lean with a swimmer build more than a weightlifter. He has Blonde to white hair down to his shoulder and emerald eyes. He was someone who could easily take on most of the guards on the ark and win without his weapons, but he was also approachable to talk to even to the other people his age in the skybox. Nick was walking through the prison station with his crossbow on his back in his guard uniform and his hunter knife on his belt checking that each prisoner is accounted for because the council is being secretive about something to do with the 100 young prisoners of the ark that is happening today when I ticked of the last name of the list of people, I heard Bill calling out to me and running to me.

"Nick, I finally found you, I have searched everyone for you. Remember you are like a son to me, and I do this for your greatest chance to live" and without any time to think bill pulls me into a hug and I feel a stinging on my neck, and everything goes black and Not knowing when I awaken, I will be secretly put on the drop pod that will lead to the earth.
