Chapter 14: Alliance?

'Thinking'

"Talking"

[System]

--------------------------------------------------------------

- Dropship Crash Site | The Ground -

- Arthur Pendragon -

"Are you guys ready yet?" Finn asked when Bellamy, the rangers and I all arrived at the gate.

"Yeah, we are. And Finn?"

"Yeah?" he asked

"You ever go behind my back again, you'll fucking regret it." I warned him.

"Are you serious Arthur? I was trying to establish peace."

"I understand that and that's not the problem. The problem is that you went out on your own and acted on your own accord without notifying me; your leader."

"... Yes, but-..."

"No. There is a reason I am in charge. Bellamy understands it. Do you?" I ask, taking a step towards him threateningly.

"... Yeah, I got it."

"Good now let's get a move on." I say walking out of the gate and into the wilderness.

--------------------------------------------------------------

- A Few Hours Later | The Bridge | The Ground -

"Bellamy, take the rangers and spread out. I want every vantage point to be covered and have them stay hidden. I don't want any accidents either."

"You got it Arthur. Alright men you heard him spread out, and make sure to stay hidden in the brush." Bellamy orders.

"Yes, sir!" x5

"Bellamy you'll come with me and Finn up to the bridge."

"Hey, no weapons."

"Shut the fuck up, Finn. You've done enough." I tell him while equipping my armor, fury's song and moving forward onto the bridge.

*Rustle*

We begin to hear rustling from the other side of the bridge. We all observe as Lincoln runs through the tree line and out onto the bridge. [Observe]

[Grounder Lincoln]

Titles: None

Race: Human

Level: 9

HP: 1,860

'How the hell did he even get captured?' I can't help but think after seeing his level.

"Hello there again, Lincoln." I greet him.

"Hello, Arthur."

"Bellamy, lower the gun." I order

After Bellamy lowers his rifle, we begin to hear horses.

3 horses come out of the tree line and onto the bridge in a slow trot before halting.

"Hey, we said no weapons." Finn complains to Lincoln after seeing the bows and arrows the mounted grounders were carrying.

"I was told there wouldn't be." Lincoln responds.

"This is why we brought guns Finn." Bellamy comments.

I begin to walk towards them, but Bellamy follows me. Before he can get too far, he is stopped by Lincoln. "He goes alone."

"Like hell-..."

"Bellamy, I'll be fine."

Walking towards the grounders causes one of them to dismount. Walking towards me is a woman with braided dark blonde hair with black roots. She had hazel, almond-shaped eyes, and wore black war paint on her face. She also wore black leather clothes. [Observe]

[Grounder Unit Leader: Anya]

Titles: Unit Leader, Mentor

Race: Human

Level: 17

HP: 4,925

'Damn, she's strong!'

Anya gave my armor and sword a few look overs before meeting my eyes and speaking.

"Your name is Arthur?"

"Yes, I am Arthur Pendragon."

Looking unimpressed she says. "I'm Anya."

"Nice to meet you. Our people have gotten off to a rough start. A few of our people have been killed. A few of your people have been killed. I think that we should set aside that for a second and think of a way where we can live together."

"I understand. You started a war that you don't know how to end."

"What do you mean?" I asked with confusion.

'We didn't launch the flares like they did in the original. What is she talking about?'

"When your ship came down from the sky debris fell from it and landed on a nearby village. Killing many and causing the villagers home's to be destroyed."

"That was not our purpose I can assure you."

"It doesn't matter. You're invaders. Your ship landed on our territory, and you knew we were here when you sent an armed raiding party to capture one of us. These are acts of war."

"I understand where you're coming from. I know what has happened to your people is horrible, but that's exactly why we need to put an end to all of this." I explained to her.

"I see... Lincoln said there are more of you coming down. Warriors."

"The guard, yes. But also, farmers, doctors, engineers. We will be able to help and benefit from each other, but not if we're at war."

"Can you promise that these new arrivals won't attack us, that they'll respect the terms you and I agree on?" She asked.

"Yes."

"How? How can you promise that?"

"Because when they arrive on the ground. I'll be the one to lead them. The people up there don't know what it is like down here on the ground. They haven't experienced fighting the monsters that live in these forests."

"And you have?"

"I've killed a werewolf and Wendigo. Yes, I have experience."

"Impressive. But what are your terms of this alliance."

"How close is the closest village to our landing site." I asked her.

"Around 18 miles away." she responds definitively.

"Okay... We want all land within a 15-mile radius of the landing site."

"10." she comments.

"14." I speak.

"11." she tells me.

"13?"

"12, but that's final."

"12 it is. Also, we need better materials."

'That will put us only 8 miles away from Mount Weather. If we build on the border that is.'

"What materials?" she asked.

"Metal in particular such as Steel, Aluminum, and copper if you have it."

"Steel and copper we have, but Aluminum? We don't have that."

"What clans do?" I asked her.

"We're not here to discuss other clans. It also seems that Lincoln needs to keep his mouth shut." she responds angrily.

"It wasn't Lincoln who told me about the other clans." I tell her quickly before she can respond. "There may be a time when I need Trikru's assistance, will you be able to provide it?"

"Hmm... I will need to speak to our chief first. I will send a rider towards your camp in a few days. Until then there will be a temporary cease fire in effect. But for now, goodbye Arthur Pendragon." she replies before turning around and walking away towards her horse. After she mounts up her and the other riders turn off and head back into the dense woodlands.

I walk back towards Finn and Bellamy. Finn immediatley asked, "What happened? Do we have peace?"

"I don't know yet. She has to talk to her chief about it first." I responded.

I turn and facing towards Lincoln I extend my hand out to him. "Thank you for giving us the oppertunity to discuss peace."

"Thank you for accepting it." he responds while grasping my hand in a firm shake. He does the same to Finn before jogging off towards the forest and disappearing from sight.

"Bellamy, gather up all the rangers. We're heading back to camp."

"Understood." he says

"Do you think they'll accept the terms Arthur?" Finn asked me once Bellamy ran off to gather the rangers.

"Honestly?" Finn nods his head. "I don't know." I say while walking away from him.

- Dropship Crash Site | The Ground -

Upon reaching camp Clarke comes out to greet me in a hug and tell me that Octavia is already asleep in our tent. But a giant explosion is then heard causing all of us to look up into the sky.

A giant white light fills the sky and begins to descend towards earth. "The Exodus Ship? Your mom's early." Bellamy said towards Clarke.

"Wait. Too fast. No parachute? Something's wrong." Clarke says with a worried expression as we see the Exodus ship plumet towards the earth.

*BOOM!*

We watch as the Exodus ship flies over the mountain range before a giant mushroom cloud fills the sky. A few seconds later the sound of the blast hit our ears causing Clarke to crumble to the ground while still in my arms.

"Mom?" I hear Clarke whisper in a mix of both pain and sadness.

"Hey. Hey!" I say getting her attention. She looks up at me with teary eyes and a quivering lip. "She wasn't on it. She wasn't on it." I tell her while embracing her.

"How? How do you know that?" she whispers into my chest.

"I-I just do. It will all be fine. You trust me, right?" I asked, looking her in the eyes.

"O-Of course." she says.

"Then trust me on this too. Your mom was not on that ship, and she is alive. Don't ask how, just trust me. Please." I plead with her.

"O-Okay, Arthur. Thank you." she says grabbing onto my chest and beginning to cry.

"Shhh... it's okay. It's going to be okay." I say once again reassuring her.

--------------------------------------------------------------

- The Next Day | Exodus Ship Crash Site | The Ground -

"Clarke shouldn't be out here." Finn says as we walk in the metal graveyard that was once the exodus ship.

"She insisted that she be out here today, she wants to know if her mom was on the ship or not." I answer back.

"You want to help her, find me the black box, hard drives, anything that will explain why the ship crashed." Raven answers back.

"Bellamy have you or the rangers found anything yet?" I asked him.

"Only wreckage and skeletons. Are you sure that we need all these rangers out here? Isn't 12 men more than enough?" Bellamy asked concerned.

"Don't worry, right now we're in a temporary cease fire with Trikru, and if you haven't noticed this crash site is at least a mile wide. Yes, we need the manpower." I reassure him.

"Alright, but just in case stay sharp! Anything could happen!" He yells out so the rangers can hear him.

"Yes, sir!" x12

After looking around for a few more minutes we were all startled when Raven suddenly yelled for Clarke to stop. I jogged over to find Raven crouched down examining a pinkish liquid.

"Hydrazine. Highly unstable in its nonsolid form. If this stuff meets fire, we're all pink mist." Raven grabs a rock and dips it in the Hydrazine before throwing it towards some of the still burning wreckage. "Fire in the hole!" she says as the rock explodes; causing a minor explosion. Raven turns towards the rest of us. "We need to clear the area."

"Ok, then. We move in formation, no straggling, weapons hot. We don't know what creatures are out there. We should get back before dark." I order the rangers as we begin to walk away from the crash site.

"Yes, sir!" x12

- Dropship Crash Site | The Ground -

When we arrive back at camp, we learn that murphy was found trying to sneak back in. Octavia said that he was covered with wounds ranging from cuts and bruises to scratch and bite marks.

"Where is he?" Bellamy asked as we entered the dropship.

Looking to the corner of the dropship. A few rangers, Octavia, Bellamy, Clarke, Finn, a few people, and I all see Murphy huddled in a corner with wounds covering his body.

"Everyone but Connor and Derek out... now!" Bellamy yells causing the people that were there just observing leave. Along with 2 other rangers that were there helping guard Murphy.

"Has he said anything yet?" I asked the two rangers.

"No, not yet sir. After a bit of persuasion, I'm sure we can make him talk sir." Connor says with a grin.

"That won't be necessary." I spoke.

"Murphy, what happened to you?" I asked kneeling down.

"T-They found me." he stutters.

"Who found you?"

"I-I don't know. When they found me, they looked human enough. I thought-..."

"Wait. What do you mean by human enough?" Bellamy asked.

"T-They had tails. Fluffy, furry tails. I-I didn't think it was real at first but-..."

"But what Murphy?" Bellamy asked.

"T-They t-transformed. I had been w-with them for a few days, and every day they would continuously feed me buffet after buffet. T-To the point where I was full, but when I would say that they would get a-angry and tell me to keep on e-eating. One night a few days after my arrival and my fattening up as they called it, t-they dragged me out of my b-bed and hung me up on a meat hook. F-For days they would continuously slice flesh of my body and feed it to their kids. I-I thought I was going to die! Eventually t-though on the night of a full moon they all t-transformed into giant pitch b-black wolves that stood on their two back legs. But-..."

"But what Murphy?" Bellamy questioned again.

"W-When they went to finish me off, they were attacked by grounders and one of the arrows t-they fired landed next to the post I was strung up on. A-After cutting myself free I ran, and I ran but I wasn't fast enough as soon a group of grounders captured me and tortured me. I escaped from them and came directly here." he finished.

"Did anyone see grounders when you found him?" Bellamy asked.

"Uh-uh." Derek responds while shaking his head.

"Arthur?" Bellamy asked, looking towards me.

"How long ago did you escape?" I asked him.

"A-A day ago. Maybe? I don't really know it's all a blur."

'Hmm... I want to help him. But I don't know if I should."

*DING*

'Looks like my choice is decided for me for once.'

"He's not lying." Clarke says after kneeling down and analyzing his fingers. "His fingernails were torn off. They tortured him."

"What did you tell them about us?" Bellamy asked him.

"... Everything." he says looking up towards us.

"...Finn."

"Yeah, Arthur?"

"You're going to train Murphy and watch over him once he's healed up." I told him.

"What? Why me?" he asked confused.

"Because you went behind my back and made decisions you weren't supposed to." I tell him as I walk out of the dropship with Bellamy and Clarke.

- Unknown | The Ground -

"Skaikru. Emo gaf in an hukop?" A thin and petite woman, with a high forehead, full lips, lightly tanned skin, green eyes, and a youthful face asked. She also has long, wavy brown hair that she usually keeps in braids. She also has a small emblem on her forehead. (The Sky people. They want an alliance?)

"Sha, emo chich op gon anya bida days kom gon." A woman said. The woman had dark brown skin, brown eyes, short black hair and had an average build. She also has multiple scars and tattoos on her face. (Yes, they contacted Anya a few days ago.)

"Yu na't gyon au gon kom Disha, Heda" (You can't go forward with this, Commander.)

"Hmm... Arthur Pendragon. Interesting name." The Commander says before turning and walking away.

"Heda, hod op!" The dark-skinned woman replies walking after her. (Commander, wait up!)
