Their "Leader"? [3]

Knock Knock Knock

"It's us. Let us in."

Three consecutive knocks resounded from the door, followed by a masculine gruff voice. Everyone in the room stiffened. Owen shakily stood up before approaching the door.

He started unlocking it without checking out of fear of making the person on the other side wait any longer.

CLICK CLICK CLICK

All the locks connecting to the door detached, followed by a loud BAM. The door forcefully widened, causing Owen, who was right in front of it, to get flown back. He groaned before feeling something wet drip down his nose.

He raised his hand to it to see a red stain on his hand. Subsequently, after, multiple sounds of footsteps closed in. He raised his head and began to greet them.

"W-welcome back, Coll!"

Standing to about 6ft2, Coll looked down at him. He had dark brown hair and green eyes. His looks were pretty average. On his shoulder was a mandible about 3 meters long. It was dark brown and glossy but had occasional scratches here and there.

Everette's eyes narrowed in on it. He didn't know why, but he felt there was more to it than meets the eye. His attention then shifted towards the people standing behind him.

Behind him stood three other people: Lucas, Jane, and Zack - the members of his party. Everette turned his attention back towards Owen's kneeling figure.

Coll gave a benevolent smile before kneeling down and assisting him in standing up. He then dropped the look, "That's sir to you, loser."

Before Owen could correct himself, Coll backhanded him to the side - causing him to crash into the piled-up tables that were lined up neatly to the side.

"AARGH!" Owen held onto his shoulder with a pained expression. His shoulder seemed to have been dislocated from the impact.

"Owen!" Lilly ran up and began to assist him with a worried expression. Her time with Alice allowed her to help, to an extent, fix his shoulder.

Coll snorted at this with a sadistic expression before walking down to the end of the hall and turning around towards the masses gathered in it.

"Bring me a chair." He demanded.

Immediately after saying that, three men brought him a chair as well as a cushion. He planted himself casually on the chair and rested his greatsword before gesturing towards a girl with blonde hair and an above-average look.

"You girl, come here." He patted his lap. The girl shook in fear before hesitantly approaching him. When she was just close enough, he pulled her in by the arm and made her rest her rear on his lap.

"Good girl."

Behind him, his party stared at him with a disturbed look. Everette looked at this with an angered expression. He planned to intervene before being stopped by Jack, who held him back by the arm.

"This is sexual harassment, Jack!" He whispered to him in anger. Jack, in response, shook his head before saying anything.

"That may be true, but I think we should analyse the situation slightly longer. And perhaps even make the situation lean to our favour."

As soon as Everette was about to retort, he felt a hand rest upon his shoulder. He took a brief glance at the owner of the hand. "Are you seriously thinking of letting this go?"

Ada stared at him softly before sighing, "I know you hate sexual harassment more than anyone, Everette, but Jack is right here." Everette's initially tense body relaxed and sighed.

"Fine... But when we have the situation lean towards our favour, he's mine to deal with." Ada smiled and nodded. She patted his head, almost like he was a child who had just been convinced.

"There there... You'll get your chance." Everette's face was tinted red a bit before shrugging off her hand and glaring at her.

Several moments later, the group continued to watch as Coll mercilessly groped the girl's body. His hands wandered around her body without rest. A disgusting smirk spread across his face.

Everette's hands clenched tightly into a fist before turning around. Ada sighed and shook her head. Jack and Amelia watched as he sat facing a corner.

Ada turned toward them before gesturing for them to get closer. Once they got close enough, they leaned into their ears and began to whisper.

"You guys wanna know the reason why he dislikes this scene so much?"

Jack raised a brow at this, "I'm sure anyone would dislike this sort of scene." Ada nodded, not making any effort to refute his claim.

"You're right. But Everette has another reason why."

"A-And that would that be, Ada?" Amelia curiously waited. She, too, wanted to know why Everette had such a strong reaction to it.

"His mother was a target of it, specifically, assault." The couple's eyes widened in shock. Ada, satisfied by their reaction, continued, "But I won't say anymore. Such rights are only for Everette."

They nodded with a concerned expression before staring at Everette.

Everette, not knowing what just transpired about him, was just planning on what sort of punishments to inflict on the hateful man.

"So this is what the lawn looks like here, huh?" A middle-aged man with brown hair tied into a ponytail, as well as being dressed in a black and white uniform, lit a cigar before bringing it to his mouth after seeing how dark it got. Everette walked beside him. He was tasked by Ada to escort Patrick into the school's grounds under the reason, "We might be here for a while. A day or two, give or take."

During this walk, he couldn't help but notice how relaxed Patrick was. 'Am I really that comfortable to be around?' He decided to ask Patrick about his sudden change:

"Is it me... Or are you calmer and more relaxed than usual?" Everette was used to seeing Patrick a bit eccentric and was surprised by his change in demeanour.

"Hm? Oh! I get like this when I smoke." Patrick shrugged before puffing out a cloud of smoke. "Gets the mind off things, you get what I mean." Everette nodded slowly, "I don't smoke, so I don't understand what you mean."

Patrick laughed loudly before staring into the night sky. The stars shone beside the moon's light. He drew in another puff before blowing.

"The stars sure are beautiful tonight. It makes me think that they're only coming out now that the apocalypse began." Everette then fell into a deep thought.

'He's right... More stars are appearing now than before.' He stared towards the stars with suspicion before shrugging.

'Meh... Probably nothing, right...?'

I don't know why... I just felt like trying to make Patrick a little relatable for some reason.
