Chapter 43 My Brain Is Trying To Kill Me

"If you weren't still useful to me I would kill you immediately, so you better use what little brain cells you have left to burn this one sentence deep into your memory. One more slip up and I'll have you skinned alive!" The Sixth yelled in rage as the guards through the Bishop out of the throne room before leaving him there on the floor.

"I really hate that guy" the Bishop said once he made sure that everyone was gone and he was alone next to the door to the throne room. His voice no longer sounded robotic and genderless but instead sounded irritated and male.

"Damn... I don't get paid enough for this fucking bulshit" he spoke as he picked himself up and moved through the castle until he found a seemingly normal looking wall. After a quick check to make sure no one was around he walk through the wall as if it was only an illusion, once he was on the other side he found himself in a mostly empty room with a glowing white crystal sphere hovering in the centre of it.

"Hey, boss man you there?" The Bishop said as he tapped the floating sphere.

'Oh and who is it that I have the pleasure of speaking to on this fine and beautiful day?" A calm yet amused and laid back male voice came from the sphere.

"Don't play around with me you dick, you know exactly who I am"

"Hahaha. Oh come on, I'm just having some fun with you and by the way, you look appsolutely fabulous in that outfit of yours" the voice said with a chuckle.

"Don't patronize me" the Bishop growled in annoyance.

"Anyway... what do you have to report Cross?" The voice spoke again but this time it sounded a little more serious.

"It's seems that the cult's operations here is starting to fall apart and rather spectacularly at that, in fact I give them a week at most before they are forced to retreat from this area completely"

"And why is that?" The voice asked curiously.

"You remember that black Phoenix, the one that was reported to have attacked the orc lord's army?" The Bishop now identified as Cross asked.

"Yep"

"Well, she is here and she has a large fucking army on her side, said army is made up of types of monsters that I've never seen before. They just appeared out of nowhere with barely any warning and have been systematically destroying and taking over the cult's bases, they have probably captured around 85% of the island and they have also freed most of the cult's prisoners at this point. So to put it simply, the branch of the cult that is here is pretty much fucked" Cross explained while sounding both tired and annoyed at the same time.

"This Phoenix, how strong is she?"

"She nearly killed me in single combat" Cross answered back immediately which seemed to get the point across.

"Damn.... well in that case you have my permission to retreat if things get to bad over there, just try your best not to blow your cover if it's at all possible"

"Understood"

"How are things on your end?" Cross asked after a second.

"Oh, well if you must know I met a very interesting slime recently"

"Hmmm..."

"Oh and it would seem that we have used nearly everything useful from the scrap yard" an Abyssal Wraith said as they read from the paper they were holding.

"Thanks for the report, you can go now" the Wraith simply bowed after I said that before then turning and leaving the room we were in.

It had been about five days since the battle we had with the cult. We used these five days to rest and heal the wounded as well as repair the city a little and sort through all the former slaves that we managed to free from the cult. Also we had to increase the production of the Abyssal Death roses to help feed not only the new people we freed but also the ever growing numbers of the Hive. Unfortunately the hole in the barrier that I had some how created when I used my Judgement sub skill seems to have repaired itself completely in this time as well, I still don't understand how I did that, I mean I literally obliterated the top of the mountain and I even made a massive fucking hole in the seemingly Indestructible barrier.

(Sigh... seems that we won't be able to replenish our forces from the stuff that we get from there anymore, it was bound to happen at some point but it doesn't make it any less annoying. Thankfully though we did get some supplies and other things from taking over this city but they won't last long so we really need to end this war quickly) I thought to myself while I checked my status.

(I still haven't unlocked any Ultimate skills... I wonder just how hard it is to get one of those, I should probably ask Great sage about it when I get back to Tempes-) my thoughts were cut off as I heard a sudden knock at my door.

"Come in" I said and a moment later the Hive queen herself walked into my little temporary office.

"My queen"

(Why does she keep calling me that? I mean come on, she is the queen of the Hive not me) I thought with a shake of my head.

"What are you doing here Elisabeth?"

"Fuyuko asked me to deliver an important message to you, apparently they have discovered the location of the person that you have been looking for all this time" that got my attention real quick.

"They found Haruko?"

"Yeah..."

"What's with the pause?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.

"Errrmm... well I wasn't there to see what happened but the individuals that discovered him were... how do I put this?" Elizabeth said awkwardly while looking away from me sheepishly.

"They seem to be... well, traumatized if you could put it that way"

"What do you mean by that?" I asked after taking a second to process that information.

"I didn't hear much because I came right here to inform you of the news my queen, however, from what little I over heard they said something along the lines of, "my brain is trying to kill me". Whatever that means"

"I... errrm... just take me there, it's probably better if I just go and meet with him myself" I said with a somewhat confused and concerned expression on my face.

"That's probably for the best" she said as she walked to the door and gestured for me to follow.

I then followed after Elizabeth as we exited the building that I was staying in, we then slowly made our way into the city as a whole. As we walked through the streets we past large groups of people that were helping with the reconstruction of the city. We also encountered several sights that honestly made me smile just a little, for example, a family of former slaves that were reunited with each other after being separated for so long. Of course not everyone had such a happy time these last couple days and many had to find out that there friends and loved ones had passed some time ago.

Eventually we made our way to the very back of the city to the part that had been built into the mountain side. It didn't take long for Elizabeth to lead me to a large man-made tunnel that led deep into the mountain, the entrance of said tunnel was surrounded by guards as well as a lot of old digging equipment.

"From what I heard, when they found him he and his assistant were sealed in a soundproof room made of metal"

"Why?" I said confused.

"I don't know, you should probably ask them that" she said as she motioned towards the end of the tunnel at a waiting Fuyuko and Yama.

"What are you guys doing here?" The moment I said that Yama's head snapped towards me.

"Your here, good, because I'm fucking leaving!" Yama yelled as he walked away back to the entrance while clutching his head with both hands.

"What the hell is up with him?"

"I don't really know how to explain it Mistress but I'll try. It would seem that this Haruko person has a rather odd ability that effects anyone that doesn't have some kind of mental defense skill" Fuyuko said with a mix of awkwardness and her usual no nonsense sounding voice.

"Okay... where is he now?" Fuyuko simply pointed towards the end of the tunnel were it opened up into a large area.

I walked forward and found myself in a surprisingly large cavern filled with hundreds of massive bones. It wasn't hard to figure out that they were the skeletons of long dead dragons from the shape of them but the thing that I was focused on most was the man standing next to the largest of the skeletons in the cavern seemingly muttering to himself about something. Not really knowing what to expect and having some prior warning about this strange ability of his I cautiously walked over to him with Elizabeth and Fuyuko trailing slowly behind me.

"Errrm... Haruko, right?" Before I could do anything else the man vanished from where he was standing and reappeared an inch away from my face.
