"I'm listening, go on Erald"
Erald had just made quite a scene as he began asking several questions to those present, and this was the result. After getting answers from Fuze and Gazel he had turned to me and Rimuru to ask us one last question before he planned to give his decision on what his stance would be towards us, Rimuru for his part had let out his aura that had almost instantly filled the surrounding area.
"So this demon lord aura...it's stronger than I expected it to be." Erald muttered a little taken aback.
"Really? You are using that for something like this?" I asked dumbfounded while shaking my head. "Talk about over dramatic." Hearing this Rimuru flinched a little before trying his best to ignore that little comment.
(Not that I myself can't be over dramatic at times but still.) I thought with a shrug.
Erald for his part could only smile sympathetically. "It would seem that I'm not the only one with a somewhat rowdy daughter."
"Yeah..." Rimuru sighed quietly but quickly refocused on the main conversation topic at hand.
"Anyway...demon lord Rimuru Tempest, demon lord Suu Tempest, I have but one question for you so please answer truthfully." Earld hummed as he also became focused once again. "What do you intend to do with your powers as a demon lord?"
That caught both Rimuru and I by surprise a little, Rimuru even dropped his aura before looking at the blond haired man in confusion. "Hold up, are you serious? That's it?"
"All that build up just for that?" I sighed while shutting my eyes and losing what little interest I had in the conversation as a whole. "What a bore..."
And so Rimuru explained his overall goal, a goal to make a world where he and everyone else can live happily without worry of suffering or discrimination, however I didn't think it was possible if I was being one hundred percent honest with myself. In the end there will always be pain, there will always be scumbags and assholes who want to see others suffer, there will always be that one bastard that just wants to start the next great war for their own personal agenda. Anyway, after Rimuru's speech however my thoughts were interrupted by Erald's voice.
"And you?" He asked once again as he turned to look over at me. "What is your answer?"
"Does it matter?" I asked, countering his question with my own.
"What do yo-?" He was about to say something but I cut him off.
"What obligation do I have to you? My power is my own, just as I can't tell you how to use your own power you have no right to ask how I would use mine." I shrugged with a tired yawn. "But I will say this, so long as you don't piss me off by doing something stupid or similar to what those idiots did I couldn't care less about you."
"Not something you should say to one of your potential allies, little miss."
"I'm technically not your ally, in fact I'm technically not allied with any of you except for Tempest." I muttered bluntly, I am not the type of person to beat around the bush after all. "Dad is the ruler of Tempest not me, the Abyss is where I rule over, not here."
"I see..." Earld mused understanding my point. "And would the Abyss be interested in an alliance then?"
"Depends really, however right now there's no point in even talking about this."
"And why is that?"
"Until I can actually make a way for people such as yourselves to enter the Abyss safely without rapidly mutating into who knows what, there is not really much point in this conversation." I muttered with my arms crossed in front of myself.
"Think about it this way, would you really be willing to form an alliance with a kingdom you not only know nothing about but also can't even see with your own eyes?" I asked with a blank look. "I mean seriously, I could literally tell you that the Abyss is superior to your countries in every way possible and you'd have no way to actually believe me or prove me wrong, that doesn't sound like a stable foundation for an alliance if you ask me."
"That's...that's a fair point." Erald blinked a little surprised.
"Indeed, it would be difficult to get people on board with forming such an alliance." Gazel commented while nodding his head in agreement to my explanation. "Most nobles would not be willing to trust such an alliance with such an unknown force, especially when you consider just how shrouded in mystery and suspicion the Abyss is already."
"Wait...?" Fuze suddenly spoke up, getting everyone's attention. "I do know some things about the Abyss, however I never knew that there was actually a kingdom there."
"Oh right, I guess it's about time then huh." I hummed, causing Rimuru to perk up in interest.
"So you're finally gonna spill the beans on what you were doing on that island you went to find?"
"Might as well." I shrugged before getting into the explanation.
My three companions helped out with this, they occasionally pitched in to help with some of their own accounts of the events that had transpired. And Boy was there a bunch of mixed reactions. Members of Tempest were furious when they heard someone had actually killed me, Gazel too had his eyes narrowed sharply in fuming rage when he found out that his own kind had been used as nothing more than test subjects in truly horrid experiments, tuna fish and his group looked disgusted when I showed everyone one of the corpses of the cult that I had saved for research, and even Veldora had a visible reaction when I mentioned the cult's involvement with the down fall of my race. And as for Rimuru, well, he was quiet the whole time, he just sat there and listened in silence. To put it simply the atmosphere had done a complete one eighty.
I did make sure to keep some things a secret, like my ability to literally create life from practically nothing. I also didn't tell them about the island, I wanted that to be a surprise.
"Young miss, please allow me to go out and exterminate these vermin for you once they are found." Diablo smiled darkly, Zeref and Kuro seemed to want to do the same as well.
"Bastards...!" Kaval, Eren's companion, quietly growled out in response to my story.
"What did they do to this poor soul?" Hero boy's girlfriend asked with her hands over her mouth in shock as she looked at the twisted and pitiful thing that had once been a person laying on the floor.
"Do you have one of those weapons? The ones that can stop regeneration?" Benimaru asked with an edge to his voice that wasn't directed at anyone present.
"Here." I sighed as I pulled out one of said weapons from the abyss and tossed it to him.
"Everyone just stop..." Rimuru muttered, calming everyone down. "Just...let me get this straight." Rimuru rubbed his own forehead as a mixture of emotions flashed through his eyes.
"You died, you actually died before nearly dying a second time later on." He paused on that for a second, seemingly to allow that sentence to just sink in fully before continuing. "You started an uprising against a group of Cultist that were apparently the ones that caused the downfall of the entire Phoenix race, you partially stop some kind of unsealing ritual that involved the torture of several dozen light spirits, and finally you have an army of over sixty thousand individuals consisting of various abyssal creatures as well as refugees just sitting in the Abyss waiting..." Rimuru summarized with a rather blank expression.
"In simple terms, yes."
"Okay...that...well...I don't really know what to say to that if I'm being honest..." He said unable to find the right words.
"I've heard of the cult you speak of, however they've never shown themselves and we've never actually found any real information on them so I thought they were only myths." Fuze muttered under his breath.
Gazel nodded at that with a deep frown but I quickly interjected. "I have several thousand people that would very much be able to clarify that they are extremely real individuals."
"Looks like I'll need to investigate this..." The king of dwarfs himself said through gritted teeth.
"Let's...let's just shelve that topic for now." Rimuru sighed after a second of thought on the issue. "At this very moment we have no way of actually learning more about them so we can't really do much about it."
"Fair point." I said with a lazy shrug.
"As for the people in the abyss, well, we can discuss that later, I'd like some time to warn everyone beforehand."
"That is also a fair point."
"Finally, Souei." The moment that name left his mouth said ninja kijin appeared seemingly from nowhere. "Take the corpse and the sword to the research lab, we can have someone examine them later"
"Understood."
"Now then, where were we?"
And so the meeting continued, and continued...and continued...a long story short the meeting lasted a very, very long time, an absurdly long time in my opinion. In fact by the time most of everything was done and sorted out the sun was going down.
Anyway, Erald declared his decision to form an alliance with Tempest and Rimuru of course accepted without hesitation. After that however we talked about several other things, some of which involved information on the Abyss as well as what little we actually knew of the cult but most of it wasn't all that interesting honestly.
(That took way, way too long...) I grumbled half asleep but it was then that I realized something. (Wait a second...oh fucking hell!)
There was still one thing that we had seemingly forgotten about and it seems that Rimuru also realized this as well. "The damn fairy still hasn't explained why she's here." I sighed, I was really starting to get sick of these meetings.
It was then that I noticed the mannequin-like golem that was handing a drink to the little fairy who was currently reading some manga with Veldora. (So the demon finally decided to show itself...or herself if I'm guessing right.)
"Allow me to congratulate you on your ascension to a demon Lord." The demon bowed slightly when Rimuru approached her.
"Thanks." He smiled but quickly realized something as he turned to me. "oh right, this is my daughter Suu, Suu this is Beretta, she's a demon that I summoned for Ramiris."
"Congratulations to you as well miss Suu." Beretta, as she was called, bowed to me with a surprising amount of respect.
I wasn't used to people being so courteous with me so it took me a second to respond. "Well aren't you polite, it's nice to meet you I suppose."
"Anyway, we wanted to know something, why are the two of you here?"
Hearing this Beretta flinched, she had obviously forgotten why it was that she had even come here to begin with, not that I actually blamed her considering how long the meeting had been. Anyway, she quickly turned to her little companion in a slight panic. "Lady Ramiris, we have no time to waste on such things, you must inform lord Rimuru and lady Suu of the situation immediately"
"Shut up Beretta, can't you see I've had a moment with destiny?" The little fairy said before looking up at the demon with stars in her eyes. "This thing called manga is amazing!"
"Just tell us what we want to know already, little miss nightlight." I growled out, I wasn't in the mood to be polite.
"Wel-wait! Who are you calling nightlight?!" She yelled, causing me to roll my eyes and say.
"You're literally glowing like a light bulb."
She puffed out her cheeks at that. "Who even are you anyway?!" She asked, she obviously hadn't been paying attention to the several times that people had previously said my name.
"Suu, Suu Tempest."
Hearing my name she paused for a second before her eyes widened in surprise. "I know you!" She yelled while pointing at me. "You're that girl Milim refuses to shut up about, "oh Suu is soooooo cute", "she's so fun to tease and mess with", it's all she ever talks about nowadays!"
The redness that appeared on my face caused Bels as well as Yin and Yang to giggle to themselves. As for Rimuru, well, simply smiled softly before saying. "As much as I like seeing Suu get all flustered like this, what were you here for again Ramiris?"
"Oh right."
(She really is my weakness isn't she...) I groaned in both a mixture of embarrassment and irritation. (Oh well...)
