Camp Building

Zach spent ten units of stone and twelve unit of wood, hundreds of nails and close to a tone of dry grass for the warehouse. He had opted to build the warehouse first as it structure was complex and the amount of shelves and storage boxes took him forever to build.

The warehouse took him three days to complete, that included both the structure and the shelves and storage boxes.

After he was done,he stored all the materials, food and resources he won't be needing during construction in it.

On the dawn of the fourth day,he embarked on building residential cabins.

There were four designs of cabins he planned on building. The first design would include ten cabins made of wood and thatched with grass. Each cabin had a smaller front room,a bedroom and a kitchen.A single cabin used up four units of wood and he had to chop a couple dozen trees to compensate for the wood.

The second design was still made of wood but its rooms were larger and had two bedrooms. This design used up six units of wood and there were six of them.

The third design was a brick cabin, with the similar layout and size to that of the second wooden cabin. He planned on building three of these, each using up one unit of stones and wood and three units of brick.

For the fourth residential cabin,it was the largest of them all. It was a third of the warehouse and was made of stones, wood and bricks.

This was used as a hostel. It had a communal dining shed and a kitchen adjacent to it.

As for sanitation,Zach dug pit latrines at the back of rack cabin. He did not have enough time to construct a sewer system.

All the residential cabins were done by the dusk of the third day.

But Zach did take a break,as he moved on to central part of his camp, this was twenty metres from his cabin. Here he laid out a simple foundation for four shops.

He used wood to construct them as he was running out of stones and the bricks he had baked were to be used for other constructs.

It took him close to seven hours to complete the three wooden shops.

After an hour of rest and a stomach full of roasted meat, soup and bread,he embarked on the last building, that took him three hours to complete,as he had to build a forge in it.

This final building was the smithy. Done with the construction of the buildings,Zach went to the forest, where he chopped a couple dozen trees. These were used to construct a wall round his camp.

The camp covered an area of a hundred metres radius. At the center region was his cabin that stood alone, within an radius of twenty metres.

The four wooden shops and smithy were located on the north, outside the twenty metres radius.

The residential cabins were on the eastern part of the camp, with the smaller wooden cabins been close to the two metre tall and twelve inches thick wooden fence. These were followed by the larger wooden cabins and the brick cabins.

The three brick cabins had a meter talk fence round them,a small backyard and a small frontyard. The other cabin that had a fence round them was Zach's cabin, the rest of the wooden cabins had no fences and their front yards were connected to the paths within the camp.

As for the hostel,it was located to the western area of the camp.

With a few hours to the quest deadline,Zach finally installed the wooden gate.

He had placed thirty beds in the hostel, and benches and tables in the communal dining shed of the hostel. As for the rest of the furniture he had made,he locked them up in the warehouse, after placing a few of them in the largest of the four wooden shops.

He also added a few more things in this shop. There were shelves filled with wooden utensils, molded utensils, pots of honey, eggs, bee wax, animal oil, beast materials, bags of grains, hides and even rolls of cotton clothe and a roll of silk clothe.

He planned on using this as his personal shop.

The other three shops were to be rented,as for the smithy,it was a property of the camp, anyone with skills in smithing could use it.

Zach walked around his camp and was proud of his work,if it was not four his high cultivation,he would not have managed to do all this within the given time.

After making himself a meal,Zach cultivated as he waited for the quest time limit.

Sixteen people appeared outside the camp's gate and Zach went to receive them.

There were eight men, five women and three children. The adults were all between the late twenties to mid thirties. And none of them was a cultivator.

"Welcome all to my camp,I hope you will find it comfortable to settle down here..."

"Thank you sir..."

The sixteen people bowed as they walked into the camp.

Zach lead them towards the hostel on the western part.

"You will all reside within the hostel for the time being, but those with enough coins can rent a cabin from the residential sector,"

"The cheapest cost a hundred copper coins a month..."

"But here, you do not need to worry about your stay or meals within the hostels,as everything will be provided by me for free..."

"But this will only be applicable within the first week, and for a month for any orphans..."

Zach added the last part as he realised that one of the kids did not have a parent accompanying him.

"Within this first week, everyone would be expected to carry out tasks within and outside the camp..."

The people following behind Zach were all ears as they did not want a single word of his.

Zach had noted that each person carried with them a bundle with them, probably filled with their little belongings. He was excited when he saw that two of the men carried a tool box with them.

One of the women, had a sewing kit with her, beside her was a little girl, who had striking resemblance to one of the men.

"They must be a family..."

Zach had thought when he saw them.

He now had three professions in his camp.
