The arrangement

L gritted her teeth.

Look at that woman leaning down on car as Adelio replied to her willingly. The sight annoyed L wholly so that she had to walk faster to pass by. Was she actually late to pick the cash bag?! "Risa!" Howbeit, Adelio called. Realizing the woman had come down to leave.

But, of course, L turned with a faint smile to greet him only. She gave a slight head bow. And she left. No more turn back or glances. "Were you waiting for me?" Rose grinned at the man while Adelio's jaw clenched. His eyes turned cold; piercing through the woman's gaze.

"Will you stop interfering in my matters, Miss Rose?" Along with a glare, Adelio alerted. Scaring the woman off so that her face dropped for a second. She, then smiled again. "Oh, I just wanted to be friends, Boss" Rose embraced her fear and embarrassment. "Friends?"

Adelio's brows wrinkled.

"I am your Boss and you are working for me. There is nothing to continue from there. Know your place" Heartless. Words were cruel. Ripping the woman's heart off. She simply had a crush on this man only. And yet, he returned cold responses. She attempted everything.

Just to approach him, she even created rumors about her and him to confuse everyone in the company, but he never acknowledged her. His attention was on Larissa and Larissa only. She knew he held a place for that woman and she hated it. "But-" "Get off"

Adelio hissed; driving off from the place once Rose took her hands back from leaning on. He spared no mercy on a woman at all. His destination was obviously the K café. Once he reached to the café, Adelio waited for L's arrival for another hour. To see her, he's willing to waste time.

"Risa" Cherry welcomed her friend who had come in. The name, alone, attracted the man's gaze. His head lifted. Meeting the woman in her floral dress. She did not glance or turn. Neglecting him entirely. When she entered the kitchen, Adelio ordered another espresso.

Hoping for Risa to appear with his order.

Meanwhile, L was figuring out how to get the money quickly. She doubted these rumors. It indeed was odd as hell for him to call her out while his rumored girlfriend was speaking to him right out of the car. She should have known back then. It was perhaps one-sided.

On her way, L recalled how friendly Rose was to Adelio during the event last time. She was the one who requested for handshake without hesitation. What if Rose was the one who fueled the rumors in the company? L came to conclusion pretty quick after consideration.

It was feasible. She did not have to worry about non-existent relationship between Rose and Adelio. Rather than that, she must have Adelio in her palm before Rose could be a step ahead. "Risa, did something happen?" Cherry threw a question, stepping near L in curiosity.

"What do you mean?" L furrowed brows. "Don't play dumb. Your soon-to-be boyfriend just ordered another espresso. He even waited for you for an hour. Something sure is up, isn't it?" Holding her hips, Cherry squinted her eyes. Somehow, it delighted L. Sounded like she had not lost him.

"There was a rumor of him having a girlfriend. I thought it was true at first and refused his offer to share a ride" L shrugged. Stunning Cherry on the other side. "So, is it true?" Her eyes widened. Earning a headshake from the woman. "Oh, thank goodness! It is just rumor!"

Sighing to herself, Cherry grinned.

L chuckled. "Yes, but since I misunderstood and declined him, he probably thought I was mad at him" L held up the cup to take the order out. "Ah, I see now~" Cherry nodded as if she had just realized the situation. A big smile displayed. "You are giving couple vibes right now"

She teased. Causing L to frown. "Don't" "Come on. We both know you guys are into each other. Continue to drag him around like that and make him obsessed. After that, invite me to your huge wedding. Who knows? Maybe I will meet my wealthy boyfriend there"

Cherry smirked. Making L sigh helplessly. "Your delusions are wild" Leaving a remark, L headed out to serve the customer who happened to be Adelio of course. "Your espresso, Sir" L flashed a smile. Adelio's eyes looked up instantly. Her gaze remained distant.

Observing the woman, he waited for her to ask him about that woman. And yet, L never did. She just turned to leave. Panicking the man. "Risa" Promptly, he voiced out loud. Stopping her steps. "Yes?" She turned. "Can't we have dinner together tomorrow?" He asked.

It was out of the blue.

Even Adelio was stunned at his own words. That was not what he wanted to say. He wished to solve the misunderstanding if she actually misunderstood. But he failed to speak up and instead demanded her for dinner date. For some seconds, L quieted down. What?

She blinked. How could he randomly request for a date? She thought he was about to explain it was not what it looked like. "I have promised Mian to have dinner together tomorrow. I might have to decline, Boss. Sorry" L bowed her head slightly. Crushing the man's hope.

Adelio swallowed the vexation. This Mian, that Luke, she sure was booked to meet with them every second. He must think of a way to be with her. "Are you going alone with her?" He added a query. Earning a confused nod from the woman. "I see. Go on. You may continue"

Adelio beckoned. The way he raised white flag made L lose interest pretty quick. Couldn't he try harder? No wonder she could not like men more than the cash. Money never disappoints. But men do. "Excuse me then" L returned to focus on her work. Adelio left also.

But L's disappointment soon changed.

"Luke? Mian?" On her way to desk next morning, L encountered the rare sight. Her friend who disliked Luke was chatting with him in the hallway quietly. They did not even notice her presence. "What are you guys doing suspiciously?" Squinting eyes, L approached.

Only to startle the two entirely. "Fucking shit!" "Goodness!" The two flinched. Puzzling L more. What even scared them this much when she did not even raise her tone? "Risa!" Luke grinned while Mian cleared her throat, avoiding the eye contact. "Is there any problem?"

L tilted her head. Finding it odd to receive such reactions. "Yes, yes. I was just talking about my puppy. Right, Mian?" Luke glanced at the woman who refused to look into L's eyes. "Yeah, right" Mian nodded. Her finger scratched her nose. And it aroused L's curiosity.

What's with this suspicious behavior, she thought. "Well, I was just stunned to see you two getting along. I am glad you are doing okay with each other" L shrugged. Maybe, she could ask her friend later with a threat. "Oh, please. We have been fine with each other since start"

Luke waved his hand.

A grin tugging on his lips while L chuckled. These two could make it out as couple in her opinion. Their energy was just perfect for each other like ying and yang. "Stop with nonsense. Let's go, Risa. I have made coffee for you" Mian dragged her friend away from there.

As if she wanted to escape the situation as quick as possible. "Speak the truth. What's up with you two?" Howbeit, as soon as they settled down at desk, L pulled Mian back with query. "What do you mean?" The friend played clueless. "Mian, look into my eyes and deny it"

L forced. Causing the woman to furrow brows. "Must I have to? I did not even do anything wrong. I was just trying to speak about his puppy. Luke's puppy is a cute one, you know that?" Continuously, Mian attempted to cover the truth with a lie. "Is that so?" L smiled, with doubt.

Tilting her head. "Yeah. You are the one who is overthinking" Mian shrugged. Pointing the arrow at the woman now. "Don't do anything stupid, Mian. If you like him, admit it. I won't judge. Instead, I will openly support your relationship with him" L took the situation wrong.

Believing the secret affair was occurring.

It was when Mian's face dropped in disbelief. How? How could her friend misunderstand in such way? But she could not deny it and reveal the truth. In addition, she would be fired. "I will tell you if anything is up between us" Mian lied through her teeth. Tickling L wholly.

"Great" And so the two friends worked hard to leave early just as their vow. Heading to the street food stall they went regularly. From the distance, L noticed a familiar man sitting at the table with another man. Promptly, L pulled Mian from approaching. "Hold on, Miss Mian"

Conclusion came up as she began to realize the oddness which she encountered this morning. "Why are Adelio and Luke here?" L turned. Earning a sheepish smile. "Sorry. Boss threatened me. I did not have choice. Just talk it out with him, Risa. Maybe he is misunderstood"

Mian tried to apologize. It was Luke who dragged her this morning to ask for her to arrange a meeting between Adelio and Risa. Luke even added her job could be on cliff if she refused. Without any option, Mian concurred to make an arrangement for the two.

She liked this couple anyway.

"Seriously?" L frowned.

But on the inside, she was satisfied.
