"So how do I look?" asked Nina while walking down the stairway of her house to the living room where everyone else was waiting. "Do I look different?"
"You look different," said Jin. "But your voice is a dead giveaway."
"I think you should try to disguise your voice," said Lars. "Or just try not to talk much."
"You look stunning!" said Lee. "Excellent!"
Everyone facepalmed when he said this. The only thing that mattered was that she looked different and unrecognisable by Kazuya.
"Should I wear a veil?" asked Nina. "To cover up more?"
"I guess u better try it on first," said Shasha. "What colour is it? Wait wait let me guess. It's purple isn't it..."
"Yes how did you know?" asked Nina.
"Considering that your entire house house is purple and you always wear purple," said Shasha. "It's not hard to guess."
The others laughed except Jin. Nina went up to her room to get the veil. She came down the stairs wearing it. It was a nice hat with a veil around it and ribbon on top.
It looked good with the gown and matched it perfectly. The dinner party was gonna be the next Saturday so they put their dresses away with the jewellery and wig. They we're kinda looking forward to it. Shasha can't wait to wear a ball gown as it was her first time to wear one. Nina on the other hand groaned at the thought of wearing yet another ball gown. They slept although they found it difficult. The plan of inviting friends over had completely left their minds. However, Shasha decided that she would meet Steve in a restaurant and ask him about Nina.
The next day was a Sunday. So, Nina was fast asleep when Shasha was sneaking out. She had called Steve earlier and told him to come to a nearby diner. She called for a taxi and went to the place. She sat at a booth that was at the far end but can still be seen from the entrance. When she saw him come in, she signalled him to come over. He sat down in front of her as the waiter came to take their order. They ordered stuff and started talking.
"So Steve," began Shasha. "I heard that you are Nina's son?"
"Yes but how do you know?" asked Steve.
"Well, Alisa told me," said Shasha. "She also told me that Nina doesn't accept you as her son."
"Yeah that's true," said Steve. "I really do hope that she does one day."
"Yeah," said Shasha. "Do you know who your father is?"
"No I don't," said Steve. "Nina doesn't either."
"We may be able to look through the Zaibatsu's old files," said Shasha. "When is your birthday?"
Steve told her and then added. "They used to call me NT01," he said. "They treated me more like an experiment instead of a human."
Just then, their food arrived. They ate and then they exchanged numbers in case they needed to ask anything. They thanked each other and went back home. Shasha arrived home in a call taxi again. She had packed some food for Nina too. Nina had just woken up and was coming down the stairs in her pyjamas to have breakfast.
"Hi Nina," said Shasha. "I tapau- I mean packed food for you."
"What's tapau?" asked Nina. "And what did you buy?"
"Tapau means pack food in Chinese and we use the word in Malaysia," said Shasha. "And I bought you some hash browns and milk tea from the nearby diner."
"Oh I love hash browns," said Nina. "Milk tea is my favourite. You didn't buy anything for yourself?"
"Nope because I had my breakfast there," said Shasha cheerfully. "Now, for some video games."
So as Nina sat at the dining table to eat the hash browns, Shasha went up to her room and brought her laptop. She set it on the dining table with the mouse and charger. She opened it and started playing King Of Fighters XIII. She loved that game and was playing as Kula and K'. After a few rounds, she closed the game and started playing a life simulation game instead.
"How many video games do you even play?" said Nina. "Since the day you came here you've been playing video games."
"Says the one who actually owns the latest and best video game console with tons of games in it," said Shasha smiling slyly. "I know you have a ton of mobile games too like Tekken Mobile."
"How do you know that?" asked Nina getting shocked and a little embarrassed.
"Well I've seen you playing it," said Shasha. "As yourself."
"Well Uh it's a mobile video game version of the King of Iron Fist tournament," said Nina. "But I prefer King Of Fighters mobile."
"Hah I knew it," said Shasha. "You're a much bigger video game fan than I am."
"Okay you win," said Nina smiling. "Now these hash browns are good..."
Shasha continued to play her game as Nina finished her hash brown and tea. She went to the kitchen and threw away the packaging of the hash browns into the dustbin. She felt like someone was watching her. She thought it was Shasha and turned around to see her sitting on the dining table still playing her video game.
Nina then looked at the window and noticed Anna crouching behind a bush on her backyard. Nina grabs the gun from the kitchen drawer and slowly opened her back door and walks out while crouching. Her sister hadn't seen her yet and Nina was slowly crawling up behind her. As she neared Anna, she saw that she was looking through her house window through a pair of binoculars.
"Curse this witch," said Anna. "How dare she go out of my view?"
Nina tapped Anna's shoulder with her finger. "Surprise Anna!" said Nina behind her. "I'm right here."
Anna jumped and turned around. "You witch!" screamed Anna. "How could you? How could you kill him?"
