Tears of Guilt

Rake Ignicius is the number one hero of the kingdom ‘Ardjestyn’. He is powerful and is also incredibly young, the youngest out of the other ten heroes. Despite the short length of age, he has been living with a pain in his chest, the feeling of loneliness and the need for his father’s attention. In the face of such emotions, a dark path awaits. Receiving an impossible ‘holy mission’ and committing the greatest sin known to mankind. Genocide, to the enemy race that had been battling his kingdom for several centuries. All that was left for him was his physical body, where not a shred of sanity and soul was left. His father’s abandonment, and the guilt rapidly eating his heart. But, the survivor of the very race he greatly took part in slaughtering suddenly appeared. Elicia Velborn, the last surviving ethelen and the crown princess of the Velborn kingdom. As such, Rake found a way. A way to remove the pain from his chest, a way to turn his mind away from the guilt. He protected her, and their journey for vengeance began.

Crystal Sphere (part 2)

"What should we do!?!?!?"

While the knights are being very confused over what to do, I took this chance to slip past them. The sphere is currently shining 100 times brighter than the sun, so no one could see me exit nor could they even see anything else, not even one another.

Meanwhile, my eyes are very much capable of handling super bright situations, since I am a light magician. I can move around easily.

But damn… this is incredibly bright, isn't it?

As I calmly made my way towards the outside, I sort of met a few knights along the way at the basement path. I simply dashed away from them without giving them time to react at all, since I will only be wasting my time fighting them.

I arrived outside the knights headquarters and flew on the skies. I landed on a very far roof that was about three hundred meters away from the knights headquarters, and even from this far I can still sense the incredible mass of mana going crazy under the headquarter's grounds.

… Time to light the fireworks.

I lifted my right hand that is no longer holding a sword, and I lifted my fingers up.

With a wide grin, I flicked my fingers.

ZRRRGGG!!!!!

With this… my holy mission is completed.

BWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

.

.

On the far north of Velborn.

A secret large human camp, placed and established by the kingdom of Ardjestyn as the base of operations on battles against the ethelens. The location is right where Calibra used to own it as its territory, also known as the Valley of Calibra.

The valley has been completely taken over by Ardjestyn knights, and was completely turned into the most front base of operation to fight against Velborn.

Currently, over five thousand men are stationed on this giant camp that is placed all along the valley. Every single one of them are knights, mages, even adventurers or mercenaries that were paid by the kingdom to join in the battle.

Where will the battle occur, and what kind of battle is it?

Nobody knows. Not until the trumpets of war have been sounded, nobody knows how they are going to fight nor what kind of battle they are going to have.

All they know, is that a battle will occur very soon with the ethelens, and that it will all be started when the great hero of Ardjestyn, the Paladin Hero, has finished his holy mission.

Everyone was minding their own businesses at the camp. Some are polishing their weapons, some are chatting with one another peacefully. The leaders are discussing plans inside a large red tent placed at the center of the long valley, and no one was expecting anything unexpected.

But then…

BOOMM!!!!!

The sound of a giant explosion can be heard very far away to the south of their location. Every single human that was stationed in that valley turned their gazes upwards, and found a rising lump of black smoke sourcing from incredibly far away land.

The ones inside the tent came out because they wanted to know what caused it, even the people that were inside the red tent.

Seeing the mushroom cloud on the skies, everyone can only guess one thing.

"I-Is that what I think it is…?"

The crown prince of Ardjestyn asked as his eyes were staring towards the dark mushroom cloud on the southern skies, while wearing an awkward grin on his mouth. Behind him, are two high ranking men, also wearing a shocked face.

"Y-Yeah… it is indeed…"

The knight commander in charge of all things Velborn said while gulping down his saliva. Gilbert had no idea that the mission would start very soon… after all, the sun just went down and that person only left for about five hours.

As expected of the greatest hero of Ardjestyn…

Commander Gilbert turned his firm gaze to his right, where another high ranking person was standing and staring into the skies. His armor is the most shiny out of everyone, and the most iconic presence.

The person then turned his gaze to his right, where all the idling fighters of Ardjestyn are staring into the southern skies.

A deep breath was taken by his nose, and he opened his mouth wide.

"ALL COMBATANTS!!!! PREPARE!!!!!!!"

The person shouted with all the air in his lungs. His heavy voice was heard clearly throughout the entire valley camp, and every single individual quickly began moving right after.

The owner of that voice is Ardjestyn's greatest knight general.

The man who stood above all knights, Grand-Duke Reithvord Ignicius.

All the men that were stationed at the camp began to get prepared. They wore their battle clothing and gears, double checking their armory, and grouped up with their squads.

Out of five thousand men that are stationed in this camp, over half of them were knights, less than a quarter to be mercenaries, and about five hundred adventurers. From that fire power, at least forty percent of them are incredibly capable of using magic, with an average tier level of 3.

But of course, included in these men are important and high ranking individuals, such as the Eleven Great Heroes of Ardjestyn.

"How great… that guy finished his mission far earlier than we all are prepared for."

Rank 5, the Spearking hero. A tall muscular man with a long scar across his face. His hair is spiked upwards, and his eyes are slanted as he chuckles on a certain fact.

"Don't be like that. It doesn't matter as long as he finishes the mission."

Rank 9, Shieldking Hero. Baggets is stretching his muscles so that he doesn't get a cramp during the battle later.

"But seriously… didn't he just arrive on Velborn? And it does matter, because now our army will have less time to prepare."

Rank 8, the Creationer. The master of every magic that is related to creation, or also known as creation magic. He had a short gray robe with black baggy pants. His long blonde hair is tied on the back, and his blue eyes slanted as he grins.

"Come on, now. Rake did his job. It was a difficult one too. The least we can do is prepare quicker, right?"

Rank 10, Flameking Hero. Jack defended his best friend from the older guys, and the rest of them laughed at him.

"Speaking of which, 'Two' and 'Three' are already on their way, right?"

Baggets asked the other heroes, and the Spearking simply laughed.

"Ah… those two have been in their positions the whole time."

"Where… are their positions?"

.

North of Marquenes, the second largest city of Velborn, on top of a tall building's roof. A single robed bearded old man holding a long white beautiful magic wand with a bright green gem floating on the top.

His eyes are gazing into the now dark skies on the far southwest, specifically towards a giant lump of mushroom smoke that is gradually touching the tip of the skies.

"It's ugly, isn't it?"

A voice came from his right, and the white haired old man turned his gaze to his right. There, a single twenty four year old man with short red hair can be seen, chomping on a red apple while sitting down on another building's roof.

He is leaning his back on the building's wall, with his legs stretched forward. Next to his army trousers are a long light blue bow with multiple magical crystals placed on it. No arrows could be seen next to him, possibly because he never needed any.

"To think such a beautiful day like this would be so horrible so suddenly."

Rank 2, The Red Arrow. The most powerful archer of the Ardjestyn kingdom, second to none. In a true combat, not one person has ever defeated him. Ranked second only, because the king was more impressed by the first.

The Red Arrow hero turned his gaze towards the old man again, and immediately grinned wider as he took another bite on the fresh red apple.

Rank 3, the Arch Mage of Ardjestyn. The greatest mage in the entire kingdom, possibly in the entire continent. Ranked third only, because he humbly stepped back for the other two young heroes to take the first and second.

The old man can only turn his gaze away, back to the mushroom cloud.

"It seems… today was never a beautiful day to begin with."
