Chapter 16

She just kept staring at him even without blinking ,it was like her world will stop if she blinks.When he notice the way she was looking at him with slightly opened mouth he smirked but she really didn't notice him smirking.The silence finally broke when he said,

"you can go to your department now,your work here is done".She didn't seem to hear him and he repeated himself this time alittle order evident in his voice,after hearing what he said,she left hurriedly and closed the door behind her When she got to her department,her teammates were preparing to go somewhere and she asked

"where are you guys going to".when they took notice if her,William said "the meeting room".She wondered why Liam didn't tell her about the meeting or he told her but she forgot about it because she was busy staring at him.

Mia:"....."

1st teammate:,it is a very cold and dark place.

2nd teammate:we only go there for an emergency.

,3rd teammate:Go get your mind ready and prepare yourself mentally.

After hearing everything they said about the meeting room.,she was scared as it was evident in her face.Taking notice of her action,Lincoln told the teammates so stop scaring her and they should be going.Lincoln try coaxing her that they only exaggerated it because it was her first time going to the meeting room.After everything he told her,she was alittle better.She has determination in her eyes,when Lincoln saw the determination in her eyes,he felt better and told her they should be going.When she entered the meeting room,she was awestruck..It was a big room with a big projection screen which is used for presentation of ideas.At the center,there is a big and well designed chair around that chair,there was a table.The table was curved and made out of glass,there was also a long curved glass chair and it was guided with alot of air conditioners,it was cold and dark her teammates said it was though those creeping feeling didn't get to her.

Her teammates were already sitted on the chairs that round the glass round the table.She also took her seat and they started waiting for their boss who usually sit at the center of the room.After awhile,the door opened and CEO Liam entered the room,the chattering of the teammates immediately stop and he walked to his seat.Then the meeting started, initially the air conditioners increased making the room to be more cold.Each teammates presented their ideas on how they attract more customers and she was trying to focus and put her attention on what they were saying.She could sense that he was looking at her.That was making her even more uncomfortable.She couldn't even relax on the chair.She was sitting all stiff like she was in some attention position.And to top it off the low temperature was killing her.Since the rest of her teammates were all guys they were mostly wearing jackets and full length clothes and probably they were used to the meeting room temperature.But wearing just a sleeveless A line dress,she felt like her spine was freezing.

So two-three times when it became unbearable,she rubbed her arms and sometimes her palm.At one point when she could feel the cold wave hitting her,she rubbed her arm again and by mistakenly her eyes looked in his direction.He was looking at her intently she felt like she was caught off guard.Their eyes met for a second but they both looked the other way the next moment Surprisingly within three to four minutes,the room started becoming warm.Since there was centralized air conditioning control,it looked like someone had increased the temperature.Instantly Mia felt relieved it was like God was finally showing her some mercy and she focused her attention back since she knew who increased the temperature.After the

meeting,the team were going including Mia when Liam told her to wait for her rest teammates to go.Lincoln didn't like leaving her alone but he had no choice because he knows how heartless their boss could be after his breakup with his ex-girlfriend,he has been working with him for 3 years.

After everyone left the duo behind

"what did you learn about today's meeting"he asked not batting an eye His tone was cold and emotionless.She told him and he told her to suggest her market strategies plan.She went to the projection screen and suggested her ideas with boldness and focus .When Liam saw her idea,it was good and how was she able to determine such an idea and he was impressed not only about that but how she was bold.

When she was done she saw him smiling but the smile didn't reach his eyes.His eyes were still cold and emotionless just like his voice a while ago.So she wasn't able to tell whether the smile means he's happy with her work or he's mocking her so she stayed silent until he spoke.
