First Betrayal

"What are you saying?"

"The one who wants you dead is the Queen. Not me or the Holy Hufaz Temple. Although, I'm glad that you survived this. I don't really want to anger the Queen by letting her husband's murderer free without getting your consequent."

"Really? Aren't you the one who said that I'm innocent after your own God's purifying soul?"

Azaleh sent a critical look at him. "Did you forget? The Queen doesn't worship God of the Seas, so this purifying ritual weighs nothing in her eyes."

"Then, why are we even here?"

This question made Azaleh look at the many guards around them from the corner of his eyes. Heon didn't think that the tall, dark man would tell him a piece of a little secret. "We, the Holy Hufaz Temple, want to see how sinful you truly are. By knowing so, we avoid giving a needless punishment for an innocent man."
