Chapter 7
As they entered their room their mouths parted in awe. They entered a huge room with a high ceiling and windows that have red elegant curtains. The room has three columns of school desk fit for two students each. While at the front of the room is a mini stage and a table for the teacher. Each student began taking their seat.
Alexa and Emma decided to seat in the third row from the back. "I'm so glad we're classmates," Alexa said as they take their seats. "Me too." Emma simply answered. A couple of minutes later a man with a fancy cloak entered the room and walks straight to the mini stage in front of the room.
As he faced the class he greeted everyone with a warm smile. He grabbed a chalk and wrote something on the blackboard behind him. "I am professor Hugo, I will be your advisory professor and your teacher in healing circles." He said calmly. "Now I won't be asking you to come up the stage and introduce yourself because I believe that it's only a waste of time. Instead, we will be going out into the woods, in that way we can learn about each other more." He said as he gestures everyone to stand up and form a line.
As the students form a line Professor Hugo asked them to face the wall. He takes something from his pocket and used it to draw a magic circle on the wall. He then pointed his wand on the wall and cast a spell. "Porttele." The lines of the circle started to glow and formed a portal. "Now careful! One by one gently step through the portal." Professor Hugo said as he assists the students to pass through the portal. When its Alexa's turn she took a deep breath before entering the portal. Sure already have passed through a portal before but it still feels different for her. As she passes through the other side she saw her other classmates looking around and has the word 'amazed' on their faces. They're in the middle of the forest in Enchantia, but she has never been on this site before. "This is amazing," Emma said softly behind her. Alexa nodded and smiled. "Yeah... It's beautiful."
This part of the forest has a different aura compared to the others. The place feels more magical. "Settle down now students." Professor Hugo said as he walks in front of the class. He gets something from his pocket and raised his hand so that everyone can see. "Does anyone know what this is?" He asked. One of the students raised his hand, Hugo nodded at him. "It's called a glam dust sir." He confidently answered. Professor Hugo smiled at him. "Correct!" He screamed in joy. "Now can anybody tell me what a glam dust can do?" He asked as he takes a bag full of glam dust from his pocket. The students looked at each other, waiting for someone to raise their hand to answer the question. Alexa felt Emma sighed beside her and raised her hand. When Professor Hugo noticed Emma he joyfully nodded at her. Emma confidently lowered her hand. "Glam dust can create magic circles, can be used in healing and it can also do extraordinary things. Its abilities are limitless." She answered confidently.
Professor joyfully nodded at her and placed the bag of glam dust on the nearest rock. "Correct! Glam dust is the origin of our magic. The name comes from the founder of the Glam tree, Galasia. Until our ancestors create wands with glam dust." Said Professor Hugo while raising his wand. "Now, us mages can perform magic in three ways. With wands, glam dust, and magic circles. Take note children that we can produce magic circles without glam dust."
One of the students in front raised her hand. "Sir, just curious, why are we in the forest?" She asked with full curiosity. Professor Hugo smiled at the student. "A very good question young mage. We are here to see the Glam Tree." The students started chattering and whispering to each other as soon as Professor Hugo said his objective for today. "I can see that you're all excited, now follow me." He said as he started walking through the forest with a bunch of students following him.
"It's so cool that we get to see the Glam Tree on our first day," Emma whispered to Alexa. "Yeah, how fortunate," Alexa replied with excitement in her voice. While walking through the forest the students can't help but look around and feel the magical aura the forest has. They may be in their legal age but they can't help but feel like a child walking through the forest. While walking, Alexa looks up in the sky and can't help but admire it. It looks so different from the aura this forest has. Once Professor Hugo stopped walking all of the students followed him with their eyes. He opened a curtain of vines and revealed the Glam Tree.
The students were amazed by the beauty of the tree. The students wandered their eyes around the corner of the tree and its surroundings. Observing and embracing the magic the place contains. The tree is tall and its branches bloom like a flower with beautiful green leaves. Surrounding the tree is a mini lake with four bridges for people can cross. Alexa was stunned from the entrance of the garden. She has never been here before, Micah used to ask her to come to this place when they were kids but she refused for she chooses to train with her godfather, Wally.
Professor Hugo walks in front of the class and gestures everyone to settle down. "Ladies and gentlemen, I present you the Glam Tree. Now based on your reactions I can say that you haven't gone to the Glam Tree's garden before, even though most of you are already in your legal age." He said and smiled at the class. Emma nudged Alexa and whispered something to her. "He's a very cheerful professor, I think I'm gonna like this subject even more because of him." Alexa slightly nodded, being cautious for them not to get caught talking in class.
"Galasia, the founder of the Glam Tree, her family owned a farm. One day her mother asked her to go to this side of the forest to get some yulens. While wandering around the forest looking for some yulens she saw a sparkle, she felt weird." Said Professor Hugo, the whole class couldn't get their eyes off him while he tells the story.
"She tried to keep her head on finding the yulens but her heart wants to do something else, her feet wants to change directions. So she let it be, she walks and walks through the forest not knowing where she's headed. Until she saw a little sprout in the middle of the forest. As she walks closer to the sprout she felt different. It's like the sprout has this different aura. Galasia's hand have a mind of her own at that time. As her hand was reaching closer to the leaf of the sprout she can feel something tingling on the tips of her fingers. And as she touches it a huge wave of magic waves passes throughout the other side of Pili.
"But that wave caused some people to fall asleep including Galasia, they fell asleep for a full twenty-four hours. As Galasia woke up she feels something different flowing through her veins. While having a heavy head she placed her hand on a table beside her bed and it was crushed. Terrified she called her parents and she was brought to some expert healers in their town.
"As they got there the clinic was full of patients. They are the same people who fell asleep for the past twenty-four hours, but the healers don't know what it is. The other patients are experiencing the same thing as Galasia's, unexplainable abilities. Galasia was thirsty for answers that no one can give her. So she journeys back to the forest, hoping to find the answers she needed. When she found what she was looking for she was surprised for the sprout had already grown into a tree. With shivering hands, she touches one of the nearest leaves, but nothing happens. Out of curiosity she took one of the leaves and crushed it, dust falls from her hands.
"With dust in her hands she holds the nearest rock and it splits into two. She tried many tests with the dust and it let her do wonderful things. That is the history of the Glam Tree and the Glam Dust." Professor Hugo said with joy on his lips. Some of the students fell asleep and some are stretching their legs. "Now the main ingredient in medicine is Glam Dust..." Professor Hugo continues his class Alexa's mind wanders outside the garden like how her classmate's mind wonder through their discussion.
Minutes had passed when the class was finished and they began walking outside the garden. "Well, today's class was fun." Said Emma joyfully. Alexa heard what she said but she didn't understand a word. Emma confusingly looked at her as she just walks past her. Is she mad? Emma thought. Without hesitation, Emma hooked her arm into Alexa's which startled Alexa.
"Hey, the lesson today may be fun but it can take time to process" Said Emma casually. "Want to go to my place after class? You know... so we can know more about each other." Alexa was stunned, she had no other friends except Micah, Wally, and her mom. She's not the type that whenever she sees a baker in the streets she'll shake his hand and they'll be friends. She may be brave but she's not good at making friends. Now that someone asks her to bond, it just makes her happy.
"Y-yeah... sure. After class." She simply replied. Emma bounced with joy for her response. Looks like this is a beginning of a new friendship.
