Zeus Story - The Hazard of Divine Spell

"Thousands of years ago, there was once a village called Flower's Garden. It was a place where mages and gods lived together harmoniously. The place was filled with flowers, just like the old Elven Kingdom. There are two words that really stood out as the characteristics of the place. They were magic and silence." Zeus said it telepathically.

"Why the silence?" Wedgewood asked.

"In the old days, mages were practicing with guides that are long gone in the present. Following the principle 'Silence is golden', they hone their skills by not letting lumine come out of their heads while they're speaking. Therefore, they make a contract with the gods to be able to do chantless magic. All of the mages avoided talking to each other but still communicated with each other with hand gestures, and slowly they were losing their ability to speak. The gods love the place since it's filled with Lumine and decided to live together with them since the mages offered them to stay in a big, extravagant house and called it 'God's House'. But a single young girl brought chaos upon them. One day, she was discontent about God's will and used the divine spell, sending everything into the void. Then she claimed herself to be one of us and renamed herself Chronos." Zeus continued.

"Who?" Wedgewood asked.

"Stagnate, the one that claimed to be the seventh goddess." Zeus explained.

"How did she learn that divine spell?" Wedgewood asked.

"The seventh god is the god of creation, Phanes. He was the closest to Stagnate during that time. When everything was nearly swallowed, by his own will, he created heaven and transported all the gods to the place, along with a single young mage with purple hair who was deemed the star of change, sacrificing his own spot in the heaven."

Zeus then clacks his tongue.

"It still feels like yesterday. You will need to be the substitute for Meyeri and the bomber for the party during the Exadactylus fight, so Stagnate won't suspect anything. Meyeri and the gods, on the other hand, will be fighting on a different battlefield. But remember, you may never say this to nobody. " Zeus continued.

"Why are you telling this just to me?" Wedgewood confused.

"I could only communicate telepathically with Mage. Meyeri has been pretending to be her apostle for a long time, showing nihilist behavior and not supporting the current situation in the world. Talking will be a risk for her apostle to snoop around. If they notice any plots to overtake her reign, our plan will be doomed. Even now, I could feel Stagnate's energy squirming around us, watching our behavior. There's no going back since this was preplanned for a thousand years. Your growth will be the key to our success." Zeus said.

"Why don't you fight her now?" Wedgewood said.

"Toes to toes to her, even I alone would have had a chance. But..." Zeus stopped his talk.

"But?" 

"She will escape into the void. Out of all spells, Phanes, the god of creation, is the world's origin. He created everything, including us gods. I learned everything from him, but he never taught me his divine magic. I don't know why he taught that girl his divine spell. What a silly mistake from him! Our plan must not fail."

Wedgewood senses the change in tone. It was anxiousness and sorrow. Then he realizes that Zeus relationship with Phanes is similar to his relationship with Arkan. Trying to distract him from his sadness, Wedgewood comes up with a question with his extraordinary knowledge that no one could ever have thought of.

"Then if everybody was created by Phanes. Who created Phanes? Why do we still have our world going even without him around?"

Zeus then thought to himself and said,

"Wouldn't it be because of Stagnate? After all, the chaos was created by her, and it is currently lurking around in this world."

"Stagnate wouldn't plan her own demise by having us stick like bread and butter to kill her plan." Wedgewood denied his statement.

"I don't know. Why are you asking?" Zeus said.

"I believe in greater force. Rather than us being anxious about what to come, I believe that the one that created everyone—even Phanes—wanted a good story. So what we can do is believe in ourselves to pursue the outcome we wanted."

It was clear and well thought out. That was the impression of Zeus with the statement the boy made. He has nothing to deny the young boy, who is still very young. He then gained conviction, not because of the boy's statement but because of the boy himself. He believed that the boy, with all the clarity and idealistic thought he had, would be the key to the success of the plan. But rather than expressing it with words, he just gave an affirmative answer to the boy, commending him.

"True. That's what I expect from my student!"

"Okay, then let's get back to training!"

Wedgewood got up just to have his sight blurry, then he fainted.

"Ah, he didn't realize himself that his body needed some rest." Zeus said.

He then took him to the tent and let him sleep. After that, he went outside and found that Meyeri appeared out of nowhere.

"You even let him use your divine weapon? You won't even let me touch it." Meyeri said. But separately, she spoke telepathically with Zeus.

"Did you tell him about the plan already?"

Zeus then replied, "I personally took a liking to him. I lent him the weapon only for him to learn containment." But separately, she replied to Meyeri.

"I've told him most of the things. But I left out something that might trouble him."

Meyeri then said, "You're such a good mentor, aren't you? I'll be off in a bit. Just checking in to see if the boy is well." Separately, she spoke telepathically with Zeus.

"It might be sooner than expected."
