Personal Weapon

Null eyes; a special bloodline technique that not only enhanced the user's eyesight by a large margin but also gave them several special abilities. It could be used to trap someone's consciousness in the void, though the amount of time the person is trapped depends on the user's strength.

There was also War God's embrace; it was a technique that only the clan head of could master, it boosted the user's strength by several leaps and bounds. It was another innate technique of the Hachiman clan.

The Hachiman clan had risen to become one of the 5 great clans in this world because of the clan guardian whom was a demon, though only the oldest and strongest elders knew about her origins.

The Hachiman's clan coming of age ceremony would arrive in a week's time, tension was building as the branch families prepared their next generation for the event.

It wasn't news that most of the so-called heirs died during this event, for that reason alone the head of the branch families also sent their illegitimate children to this event in hopes that at least one survives it.

However, the surprising thing was the pride of these so-called heirs. They believed they were the best of the best because the amount of rank 0's in those families had skyrocketed.

Jason had nothing to do with this, he was supposed to be busy training Emily in basic stances and footwork, but he had finished so he had nothing to do today.

He was currently making his way through the market wearing nothing but a blue hoodie and black pants. On his head was a black mask with holes that were as big as his eyes, and on his hands were black gloves.

He had amassed 120, 000 from the clan by occasionally asking for money, because he was always given 10, 000 he quickly got 120, 000.

Jason's goal was to buy a katana. He had been training with a dagger, but a dagger would always be a side-arm unless you were planning to use it as a main weapon.

The trial was coming soon so he had to prepare well, luckily he was preparing.

While he walked he received odd looks, seeing an individual wearing a mask as if to cover his face raised a lot of questioning looks.Jason didn't mind them, they were much more friendlier than when he moved with his face in full display.

'I will do something about the racism.' Jason decided to himself.

Racism would be a big problem if he continued, there were also somethings he planned to get; Items that increased the protagonist's power.

Without mana most of the treasures were useless for him, so he would be limited to items that enhanced the physical aspects. And even then he would make sure to take one or two to make sure the protagonist didn't become weak.

He walked towards a familiar shop, he had passed this shop the two times he had left to buy items.

The speed-enhancing shoes and the daggers.

Those speed-enhancing shoes weren't much of a treasure, they increased the speed of the wearer by about 3%. There were obviously better treasures in the world that boosted the wearer's speed by incredible margins.

The original 8-inch dagger he had been using had just been sold, Zane had obviously gifted him with a better weapon. It's durability and special effects were on another level compared to the 8-inch dagger he bought.

Jason's thoughts wandered off to how Emily would be when he left for the trial, he obviously couldn't leave a little girl to fend for herself.

Even though he had been teaching her combat lessons he couldn't expect a girl that hadn't even awakened to deal with someone that tried to kill her.

And that was if she even awakened.

If she didn't awaken he would have to doubt the system's suggestions; those suggestions were basically supposed to be the right choice, they helped him when he was younger.

Even though it was because of the system's crazy idea of borrowing that he currently owed 600 P it was still a lifesaver, if he didn't borrow on that fateful day he wouldn't have copied Null eyes and War God's Embrace.

He arrived at the stall, it was aligned with all the other stalls in the area.

The woman at the counter was old, she had white air and dry skin. Her small pupils scanning him intently before her expression changed into a smile.

"What are you here for kid?" She asked, her cheerfulness a polar opposite of the look she gave him when he scanned her wares.

"I'm here to buy a sword... A katana to be precise." Jason said.

The old woman's eyes went towards her wares, she went into the back before bringing out three katanas.

All the weapons were sheathed.

"This one sells for 80, 000." The woman said as she dropped one of them onto the counter.

Jason's eyes scanned it briefly, he picked up the weapon before unsheathing it. He could see signs that this weapon had been used briefly before, he shook his head, with his enhanced eyesight thanks to the passive form of the Null eyes he could see it.

He sheathed it before handing it back to her, she handed him another one.

"This one's for 100, 000." She said before giving him.

Jason's eyes widened as he saw the weapon, it was the exact same weapon that he wanted to buy. When he asked the woman she claimed that it sold for 120!

'I'm lucky I came like this.'

He felt it against his hands and found that it was sharp, not only that but it was made by a good blacksmith and with good materials.

"I'd like this one." Jason said.

The woman nodded in delight before adding that he made the right choice, she claimed that the weapon was special. It was what the typical merchant said once they sold one of their goods.

"I have only 97, 000 with me right now." Jason said as he prepared to haggle.

If he didn't wear these clothes he wouldn't have dared to haggle, there was a chance that they would deny him of the weapon and force him to pay extra.

The old woman's expression barely changed, from what he could tell she was still gleeful.

"Yes. 97, 000." She said in agreement.

Jason almost blinked, he was 100% sure that this wasn't how haggling went.

"There has been a dark-skinned boy barking up at my shop, to be honest, if he came today I would've increased the price by 40, 000 to scare him off." She said as she collected the money. "Here's a secret, this katana has a special ability, the merchant that sold it to me confirmed it."

'I should kill her.'

Jason was almost about to take her head off at her comment, if he had come without a disguise he wouldn't have gotten the katana.

He nodded silently before walking away.

"I have 23, 000 left." Jason muttered to himself. "What should I buy."

Jason was hoping for a system suggestion, but unfortunately he didn't get any.

He walked briskly in a random location while hoping to find something.

His luck seemed to be bad because he had not encountered anything more except the stares that everyone was giving him.

Jason had been stopped by a guard who asked for his identification.

You couldn't trust a masked individual who held a sheathed weapon, who knew what crimes he could commit on the grounds of the Hachiman clan.

"Identity." Jason asked. "I don't have one."
