Chapter 148: False Oath

"Our village got lead by the woman who claimed that she is my father's sister. The villagers believed her acting and they started to obey her. She stole every husband from each household but the women were happy about it. Which was I think was wierd. I started to investigate her but I failed when all the villagers started to hate me. She played a role that made the villagers got intoxicated of her false kindness. I made an oath to be free from this curse that was put upon me. Not long after I founded this secret hide out so that I can spy of her. I got casted out by my own people but I can't even hate them.

Yes, I was angry but that was because they were decieved, blinded and hypnotised. How can I hate this people whom my late parents entrusted to me. My yearning lead me to commit a sin. I made a vow unto the half snake when I was eight and she asked me to take a blood offering.

I was desperate, I was lonely and I am imperfect. I took a boy who was my friend and stabbed him with a scissor enough to make him bleed but I was not able to kill him. When I came to my senses I hurriedly carried him and took him to the nearest hospital and left him there. I was scared that he might hate me and for the first time I was glad that I got this lady bug facade. He did not recognise me. And for me to appreciated this facade whom I hated. Later on, I found that the oath the snake promised was unfulfilled. I started to went solo and saved every foreign male that I can but not all. Most were got eaten by the vexin and vile creatures."

The lady bug witch finished as she tremble from the courage she gathered to speak about her past. Ophir just lend his ears. Kiel, Nevi and Ain just listened behind the door. Ophir got curious about her and inquired.

" What is your name?"

The lady bug blushed and answered.

" I am Imni."

Ophir tilted her head and asked.

" I mean your given name not your last name."

"Puah Imni."

She completed as he tucked her hair behind her ears. She is actually lovely without the spot on her body.

Pauh instantly stood up and warned them.

"Let us listen, their are people above us."

Kiel posed with a strong and defending structure. Nevi and Ain stood at the door. Ophir scoot closer neae Puah and Hexel opened the door to check on Sienna who started to pant as her temperature rises. The heared a sudden blow coming above them and the half snake and human appear to used her tail to bind them.

Sienna got awaken from the explosion and jolted up but was weakened. She felt her body getting hot when Hexel carried her bridal style and called Nevi. Nevi instantly aided him and they left the venue. Hexel searched for the nearest stream. When they found one, Hexel sat down as he rest Sienna on his lap. She heared from the lady bug witch that a natural water can ease her temperature if she got soaked. Nevi can just smile at how sweet Hexel was. He is might be insensitive but he also had his plus side. He watched from the distance to guard them when a countless snake rained down unto them. Hexel stood up and drew out his sword to single hangedly kill out the swarm of reptiles heading toward them.

Nevi raised his hand to pray.

"Our God who have seen how vile and wicked this creature was unto the people that bore your early fruit and spreaded vine. May your unfailing love break up the bind and deciet that blinded their visions. Amen."

Nevi got clothed like e reptile and he uses his bare hands to overpower the endless rain of snake unto them. Nevi aided Hexel to stood up from the water and they headed back unto the underground tree house. Ophir used his bones to split the snake and slice it mid air. Kiel waved his cane to create a shelter and prayed.

"Lord God, Who can only refuge us with His loving hands. Beneath Your wings, we lay down the yoke from this people's neck. We know you remember their goodness and story. Let Your shelter be upon us. Amen."

The trees extended it's branches and the roots tangled and restrained the half snake and human as it transformed unto Puah's self proclaim aunt. She started to raise her hands against Puah but Ain made her tiny. Her spell had the same effect. Hexel asked the witch to reverse her potion unto Sienna but she arrogantly laughed at them. Puah got angry and almost used her palm to crush her aunt.

Puah glared and breathed to calm herself.

"I can't even hit you with the hand that you cursed. This is ridiculous."

Hexel pointed his sword and the degrees within the place dropped. His sword transformed unto a needle and said.

"Start talking or I will poke you and make sure that even your ashes will not be recalled."

The witch can see how it made her forehead bleed and started to spill the beans. The half snake bit Sienna and her venom made Sienna regain her usual heart beat. Her pant slowed down and her sweat halted.

Puah let the Tale Bearers handle the matter. When her aunt got send unto the prison. Her lady bug form were unchanged. But her people wept and acknowledge her. Their whole village mourn for the lives of men that made their household heedless. The village got known as the place of lamenting widows.

Ophir and Nevi needed to bring Lehi back unto the sight to have it sealed as a book with Kenan's help. Sienna got welcomed by the duchess and promised that she will no longer rush their wedding as long as Sienna agreed to be announced as Hexel's fiancee. Sienna just agreed since she might have her back got chased by Tale Bearers once more which is more terrifying than having a devil come after her.
